Parshuram Naik wins Bricklaying Medallion of Excellence in Brazil

Parshuram Naik, a Kushal Trainee, under the guidance and training of Mr. Jaiprakash Shroff, Chairman of Kushal and with the sponsorship from Finolex Industries Limited participated in the 43rd World Skills competition in Sao Paulo, Brazil recently.  At this event Parshuram made India proud by winning the medallion of excellence in Bricklaying. This entire program and the travel to Sao Paulo were sponsored by Mr. Prakash Chhabria, Executive Chairman of Finolex Industries Limited who is a firm believer in our Prime Minister’s vision of “Skill in India”.

The team representing India in the world skills competition consisted of 29 participants in 27 skill categories and was led by Mr. Dilip Chenoy CEO NSDC.

The two Kushal trained competitors in the team, Tikam Singh and Parshuram Naik post winning bronze medals in their respective skills of Wall & Floor Tiling and Bricklaying in Oceania, New Zealand were selected to participate in the World Skills Competition at Sao Paolo. Here they were provided with the expertise and training from Mr. Jaiprakash Shroff, Mr. Sameer Belvelkar (interpreter for Bricklaying), Mrs. Prerana  Kothale and Mr.Kapil Trimal (experts & Interpreter in Wall & Floor Tiling).

Kushal is a social enterprise, a project for upskilling and training construction workforce which is a joint initiative of CREDAI Pune Metro with the NSDC (National Skill Development Corporation). Having started four years ago, Kushal has already trained 20,000 construction workers, won 13 International, National and Government awards.  Kushal is a pioneering on-job-on-site, earn-while-you-learn training program entailing zero wage loss for its trainees.

Mr. J. P. Shroff (Chairman Kushal) said, ‘there were 27 competitors from 27 countries of the world and by winning the medal Parshuram has proven that the Indian Skill standard can be better than that of the developed countries such as Germany ,U.S.A.  etc.  The whole team of Kushal and Finolex Industries Limited congratulates Parshuram Naik for his grand success in Brazil for winning a medallion of excellence.
