ARMY LT COLONEL FACES 35 YEARS IN PRISON AND $750K IN FINES – KENNETH ALLEYNE HAS BEEN CHARGED IN 46-COUNT INDICTMENT WITH THEFT, WIRE FRAUD AND MAKING FALSE OFFICIAL STATEMENTS – VIRGIN ISLANDS NATIONAL GUARD OFFICER ACCUSED OF IMPROPERLY USING GOVT HOUSING FUNDS – CHEATING UNCLE SAM.

A senior officer in the Virgin Islands National Guard stands accused of cheating Uncle Sam out of big bucks in housing allowances.

Hit with a 46-count indictment from a federal grand jury is Army LTC Kenneth Alleyne, who’s accused of theft, wire fraud, and making false official statements.

If convicted, the light colonel could get up to 35 years in prison and $750,000 in fines.

Alleyne, 45, chief of the VING’s strategic initiatives and plans division, is free on $50,000 bond and faces court arraignment on May 6th.

NON-COMMISSIONED OFFICER ALSO CHARGED

Also nabbed on the same charges is Staff Sgt. Emmrie Edwards, according to a press release from the Justice Dept..

The 37 year-old NCO faces the same penalties as the lieutenant colonel does.

Readers know that lower-ranking soldiers often get hammered harder than ranking officers for the very same crime. So, it will be interesting to see if Edwards is punished more severely than the field-grade officer.

We all know he won’t get any jail time as no high ranking officer every does in the military.
