Cedra Crenshaw: Obama's Illinois Buddies Target One Mom

Just a few months ago, Cedra Crenshaw was a stay at home mom. A former accountant and auditor, she was spending her free time fighting for transparency and accountability from local governing bodies. She became a regular at school board meetings. Quality education for all, is one of her passions.
Living in Illinois, she knew firsthand, what many in America are now witnessing. The liberal policies that the current administration espouse, don’t work. The same Chicago Machine that put Obama in the White House is the same machine responsible for the Illinois’ debt crisis. For nearly a decade, Illinois Democrats have controlled the Governor’s mansion, and both houses of the General Assembly. Their leadership, or lack of, has led to Illinois having the lowest sovereign debt rating of all 50 states. Internationally, Illinois currently ranks two spots ahead of Iraq. Ms. Crenshaw read an article about becoming a precinct committeeman. Knowing how dire things have become in Illinois and the country, she decided she needed to do more. She filed the proper paperwork and was elected to be the Republican party PC for her neighborhood. Her business acumen, and common sense approach to both her personal life, and public policy was quickly noticed by reformers, including myself. A rookie PC, I was grateful to meet someone who believed in limited government, fiscal accountability, and a free market economy.
The dominance of Democrats in Illinois has left a void in the Republican party. A void so big that even elected Democratic officials that commit outrageous acts go unchallenged in elections. State Senator A.J. Wilhelmi is one of those politicians. He voted “present” on the Blagojevich recall amendment. He voted for a 66% tax increase. He voted himself several raises over the last 4 years totaling 18%. All this while helping to drive the State of Illinois into fiscal ruin. This void remained empty until a few reformers reached out to Ms. Crenshaw. With much trepidation, she decided to take on this monumental task.
With a little over two weeks remaining until the petition deadline, we had to collect 1000 signature to get on the ballot. With the help of several tea party activists, we gathered over 2100! We were on the ballot. Or, so we thought. Ms. Crenshaw has since endured the wrath of the entire Democratic machine. Michael Kasper, an attorney who’s past clients include Rahm Emanuel, Bill Clinton, and Barack Obama, is representing a stooge who is challenging Ms. Crenshaw’s ballot access. While the Kasper had to quickly concede that Ms. Crenshaw garnered enough petition signatures, he is now focusing on two technical arguments that have already failed in other challenges.
Why is so much pressure being brought against a stay at home mom running against an incumbent in a 2-1 Democratic district? It’s the same reason Cedra Crenshaw is becoming a national story. The Democrats can’t call this tea party warrior a “Racist, Evil, White Man” because she just happens to be a middle class, African American, stay at home mom. A person with no previous political ties that wants to spearhead the Forensic Audit of Illinois’ books it so deparately needs. Cedra Crenshaw is a women of principle who is more concerned about what is right, than what will get her elected. That fears the entire Illinois political establishment.
Unfortunately, the board that is deciding Ms. Cranshaw’s fate is comprised of two Democrats and one Republican. In an election, time is essential. The first hearing was six weeks ago. The Democratic controlled board has yet to even render a decision! We are fearful that the Chicago Machine is merely trying to damage our campaign by “running out the clock” or waste our resources on legal fights instead of political ones. Our attorney had to file a motion just to get our side of the story heard in court. We expect to lose this round. However, the appeal process offers a more promising outcome. But that requires more money. The Chicago Machine is trying to win in the court room instead of at the ballot box. Don’t let them!
