Don’t Cry For Juan Williams

There has been a lot of crying going on behalf of Juan Williams, a now former NPR employee who is a regular guest on various FOX News shows. In case you have not heard by now, Mr. Williams was terminated by NPR after appearing on The O’Reilly Factor and daring to give his opinions on the issue of Muslims who, much to the consternation of liberals, did indeed fly planes into the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and a field in Pennsylvania on September 11th, 2001. This truth is something liberals hate to admit.

The left prefers to label the hijackers on that September morning as just “radicals” or something similarly vague to disguise the fact that they were also first Muslims who were extremist. Any mention of the fact that they are Muslims drives the left and their minds focused on political correctness absolutely nuts. And Juan Williams admitted not only that but also that whenever he sees Muslims identifying themselves as Muslims he does look at them with a more critical eye.

Thus NPR canned him. After all NPR, funded partially by our government raising First Amendment issues about the firing, cannot allow anyone to suggest that vigilance be kept. Please note that Juan Williams did not suggest discriminating against Muslims. He did not say that all Muslims were bad. He just stated that knowing who it is that wants to do us harm, he is a little cautious when he sees someone that might fit a general profile of said people.

NPR, in damage control mode, issued a rambling, bumbling internal memo to justify its stance. NPR said things like this:

“[NPR] News analysts may not take personal public positions on controversial issues; doing so undermines their credibility as analysts, and that’s what’s happened in this situation. As you all well know, we offer views of all kinds on your air every day, but those views are expressed by those we interview – not our reporters and analysts.”

Yes, we cannot have any controversy can we? Official lines and talking points must be maintained. Juan Williams was not giving his opinion on NPR but on Fox News. NPR apparently does not like the fact that more people hear Mr. Williams in one appearance on FOX News than on their airwaves if you ask me. If Mr. Williams were at a cocktail party and talking about the topic, saying such things, we can only assume that NPR, based on this statement which does not make a distinction by venue, would also have been canned. This is one of those nebulous statements that only a liberal could think would make any sense.

Further they rambled that despite having warned Juan Williams about his actions in the past, this was apparently the final straw:

Second, this isn’t the first time we have had serious concerns about some of Juan’s public comments. Despite many conversations and warnings over the years, Juan has continued to violate this principal.

I am sorry, but this sounds like NPR trying to spin hard to keep from looking like the dullards they look like – no matter how hard they spin. They had “many conversations” with Mr. Williams over the years about his actions? Meaning of course his appearances on evil FOX News of course. Yet he was still employed despite these “many” violations of their so-called policies? What, was Juan sleeping with one of the Executives or something? What company allows “many” violations of company policies and not fire the employee in question?

Only a liberal crackpot outfit like NPR apparently!

Let’s be honest, Juan Williams violated liberal code by denoting that Muslims were behind the 9/11 attacks. Not all Muslims mind you, just that the attackers were Muslims. That is out of line in liberal circles.

But don’t cry for Juan Williams. As far as an intellect, Mr. Williams is a lightweight. As I have said in the past he doesn’t do much except carry the water for the liberal agenda 99.9% of the time reciting verbatim talking points and looking easily confused when confronted by readily available facts. The occasion is rare that Juan Williams actually sounds coherent and passes a rational though through his lips. But it has happened.

He has been this way for years and now he is reaping the rewards of his years of loyalty to liberal causes.

To cry for a man that is so vaguely aware of reality serves no real purpose. But watching liberals eat their own does. It is the way of all evil and we need to learn this lesson.
