Haley Not Impressed With Current Presidential Field
South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley says she’s not excited by any of her party’s potential presidential candidates.
“I’ll tell you, right now, no one in the field excites me right now,” the Republican told the Associated Press Wednesday, a sharp signal from one of the Palmetto State’s most valuable potential endorsers.
I don’t disagree with her that the current crop is unimpressive, although former New Mexico governor Gary Johnson just announced yesterday he is running and I’ve heard many good things about him. Interestingly enough, Mitt Romney endorsed Haley’s candidacy for governor. I’m guessing she’ll feel some pressure to return the favor.
“I think it has to be someone that is not going to talk about the wrongs of President Obama. They have to talk about what they’re going to do to make things right,” she said.
I think she is flat out wrong on this. Yes, people want to hear what the candidates are going to do to make things right, but the eventual Republican nominee cannot be afraid to fire off at Obama at every opportunity. The guy may possibly go down as the worst president in our nation’s history and the GOP needs a candidate who will take every advantage at pointing out his failed policies and actions he’s taken to make things worse. Why would you not milk that for everything it’s worth? This is why Donald Trump is getting so much momentum right now. The man is not afraid to open his mouth and he is saying what people want to hear. We’re tired of this timid approach to attacking this president’s catastrophic agenda for our nation. If the Republicans want to win then they need to come out guns blazing.
