Santorum Visits Horry County
If you read here regularly then you’ll know I’m originally from Pennsylvania. Rick Santorum was my U.S. Senator when I lived in Pittsburgh and I wasn’t tearing up when he lost reelection in 2006. I’m not particularly fond him. He’s one of the Bush neo-cons that I was pleased to see get ushered out the door. He talks about controlling spending, but ask him why he voted for every single one of Bush’s deficit laden budgets, which up until Obamination, were record setting liabilities. Santorum also voted for Medicare Part D which vastly expanded the nanny state which we can no longer afford.
Recently, Santorum stated that Social Security is in trouble because of abortion. Uh-huh. I imagine he is coming from the angle that were abortion illegal there would be several million more people alive paying into the program. Ok, fair enough, but how many social services would those people be consuming today? Social Security is floundering because it’s an unsustainable program in its current form, with or without the aborted would be people contributing to it. Let’s face it, Santorum was just pandering to the pro-life crowd and I’m not a big fan of pandering.
