King Obama To Impliment Jobs Bill Without ‘Congressional Authorization’

These days Congress is a bit of a nuisance for Obama.  He has stated before that he’d like to work his way around Congress, at least until Nancy Pelosi is in charge again, but he simply can’t.  That pesky Constitution is keeping him from doing what he wants to do.  Why should Obama let the Constitution stand in the way of “progress?”

The Democrat-controlled Senate killed Obama’s must-pass-now-or-everyone-will-turn-into-rapists-and-murders jobs bill due to lack of support.  The bill stands no chance in the Republican-controlled House.  Normally that would be the end of the story for a bill.  In actuality that is the case here too, but Obama is not going to let the Congress nor the Constitution get in the way of administratively implementing his bill.  While Democrat Senator Hoyer is out blaming American voters for Congress’s job performance Obama is directing his executive staff to find ways for him to “act administratively without additional congressional authorization.”  Hear it from the source:

“We’re not going to wait for Congress. So my instruction to Jeff, and Jean, and Valerie, and all the advisers who are sitting around the table is: scour this report.  Identify all those areas in which we can act administratively without additional congressional authorization and just get it done.“

There are a lot of problems with Obama’s grand plan – 535 problems to be exact.  Speaker John Boehner told the press that he intends on keeping the “purse strings” completely in the hands of the Congress.

“Every president wants to ignore the fact that the people have sent 535 people to Washington to represent them. I’ve seen this from every administration that I’ve dealt with since I’ve been here.”

“The fact is, we’re a nation of laws. We all swear to uphold the Constitution of the United States when we take our oath. My oath is no different than the president’s and neither are any of the members, and the Constitution gives Congress the authority to control the purse strings in our government and we will continue to do so.”
