High Obamacare Premiums? Blame Those “Evil” Insurance Companies

Obamacare was supposed to decrease insurance premiums but, it seems, that isn’t necessarily the case:

Across North Carolina, thousands of people have been shocked in recent weeks to find out their health insurance plans will be canceled at the end of the year – and premiums for comparable coverage could increase sharply.

One of them is George Schwab of Charlotte, who pays $228 a month for his family’s $10,000 deductible plan from Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina.

In a Sept. 23 letter, Blue Cross notified him that his current plan doesn’t meet benefit requirements outlined in the Affordable Care Act and suggested a comparable plan for $1,208 a month – $980 more than he now pays.

Or what about insurance costs for those who rarely or never use it?  We’re talking about the young:

report from the conservative American Action Forum found that health insurance rates for 2.7 million people aged 18 to 35 — the so-called young invincibles crucial to the health-care law’s success — would rise dramatically.

A healthy 30-year-old would see his health insurance costs rise in all 50 states and the District of Columbia.

Pre-Obamacare premiums average about $62 per month, according to AAF, while post-Obamacare premiums average about $187 per month — a 202 percent difference. The average change between 2013 and 2014 low-cost premiums is 260 percent.

Could Obamacare be responsible?

Of course not… it’s those greedy, evil, multi-national corporations.

Healthcare is a “human right” and anything that costs money is because of evil Capitalism.

And the Koch Brothers, of course.

Here’s a typical article:

Don’t Blame Obamacare For Job & Insurance Losses, It’s Corporate Greed

Those corporate profits were not earned by the shareholders of these companies or their overpaid corporate executives. They were earned on the backs of employees that are more productive and without any opportunity for pay increases because of concerted oversupply of labor in America. Corporations take more from the middle class yet balk at paying a little bit more to afford them health insurance. They balk at paying a wage their employees can live on.

What Liberals don’t care to understand is that consumers only care about the lowest price.  If you go to Best Buy and see two LCD televisions and they appear identical but one is $250 more which will you chose?

That’s correct… the cheaper one.

So are corporations to get together and all agree to raise prices by 5% to make the world a better place?

That’s illegal behavior.

And if your competition raises it’s prices by 5% and you don’t then all the better for you to increase marketshare.

Obamacare’s goal is to put private insurance out of business and by blaming “corporate greed” it is training people to help in reach this goal.

My healthcare costs have gone up by 20% and I have seen no increase in services.

How is that fair?
