At a press conference that preceded her speech Gov. Palin said LifeChoices is an excellent clinic for young men and women facing less than ideal circumstances. She said the LifeChoices model is good for the country to follow. Gov. Palin spoke briefly about her own pregnancy with Trig who has Down Syndrome, and her daughter Bristol’s pregnancy. She praised the resilience of Joplin’s residents. Joplin was hit by an EF5 tornado on May 22, 2011.

Gov. Palin’s speech started at 8 PM EDT, but nothing has been shared on social media since the press conference. This suggests the main speech was closed to the press and all forms of sharing.

Under the LifeChoices model, “there is a divine purpose and plan for every child that is conceived.” This core value cuts to why Gov. Palin is speaking there. Over 90% of babies with Down Syndrome are aborted. Gov. Palin gave her pro-life message at Shareholders in Life, and the Terri Schiavo Gala, In 2009, Gov. Palin received an IGHL award for defending people with special needs. She spoke about the sanctity of life in Vandenburg, Indiana a few months prior.
