Man, Do I Feel Sorry For Senator Mike Lee
The Democrat Party has chosen a transgender man transvestite to run against the very popular Senator Mike Lee in Utah. RedState Article.
Why a transgender transvestite? Because the fellow, who goes by Misty Snow, is the first of his kind to run for the US Senate. And that special status, in leftist think, gives his candidacy weight in order to attack the normalcy and acceptance of religion and faith. RedState notes:
Democrats needed a battering ram to help break down the conservative stronghold of Utah politics. To do that, they have to make faith and religion appear to be discriminatory. If they can break through that religious wall in Utah, the rest of the nation’s already-strained corner of religious foundation will quickly follow.
Such is doubtless correct, as Misty Snow made clear in his recent debate with Senator Lee.
Lee was explaining his First Amendment Defense Act bill, which would prevent the federal government from taking discriminatory action against people or nonprofits that don’t support same-sex marriage. In reply Misty equated practicing religion with illegal discrimination:
“The problem with that [law] is it pretty much legalizes discrimination in the name of religion.”
But all that aside, I think part of the leftists tactics here are to mock Senator Lee (UnHoly Alinsky Batman!). Because the optics of poor Senator Lee, a brilliant and decent conservative man, being onstage with Misty is one not soon forgotten. And although Misty looks like he took makeup lessons from Cover Girl’s Cover Boy, it is just a shame that Senator Lee has to share a stage with a man who is, and in earlier times would have been universally understood to be, mentally ill.
