Much as this malarkey sets the teeth on edge, at least Audi partially redeemed itself by debunking its own moonbattery:

That’s how it works, all right. If women really were paid less than men for the same work, the free market would dictate that no men are hired unless no women are available. Where the bottom line rules instead of the fraudulent ideology on display in television commercials, no competent employer will pay more for the same work.
As always with liberal politics, scratch the flaky surface and you find something ominous. The objective is not pay equality; economic freedom already guarantees that. The objective is tyranny so all-encompassing that it empowers government bureaucrats to dictate every minute detail of the relationship between employers and employees. When utopia has been imposed, people who get a B.A. in sociology, don’t feel like working more than 25 hours a week, and take months off at a stretch for the admittedly crucial business of having babies will be paid as much as people with advanced STEM degrees who work themselves into the ground.
