Moonbats Shriek That Global Warming Is Sinking Ocean Floor

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

Despite years of bombardment with absurd claims related to the global warming hoax, some still have not been reduced to hysterical panic. Newsweek tries yet again with this shrill all-caps headline:

THE OCEAN FLOOR IS SINKING UNDER THE WATER WEIGHT FROM MELTING GLACIERS, AND IT’S AS BAD AS IT SOUNDS

Brace yourself for terror. From the article:

So much extra water is being added to the world’s oceans from melting glaciers that the ocean floor is sinking underneath the increasing weight.

This is bad news because if the ocean floor sinks sufficiently, sea levels will not rise enough to wash away coastal cities populated by the sort of moonbats who read Newsweek.

Over the past 20 years, ocean basins have sunk an average of 0.004 inches per year. This means that the ocean is 0.08 inches deeper than it was two decades ago.

For some perspective, a dollar bill is 0.0043 inch thick. As for the 0.08-inch total reached over a period of 2 decades, that is the thickness of a popsicle stick. When it comes to measuring the ocean floor, this is presumably well within the margin of error.

Yet we are expected to tremble in fear because the supposedly sinking ocean floor means that ocean levels could be rising even faster than previous claims.

Small coastal areas won’t be the only ones to disappear due to rising waters, and if current estimates are correct, by 2100 the ocean will rise between 11 and 38 inches, a number that could mean that much of the U.S. east coast will be covered in water, National Geographic reported.

Yet coastal property values do not decline, almost as if everyone knows this is a load of baloney.

By the way, National Geographic, infamous for its crudely exploitative sick polar bear propaganda, also reports that it is good to raise boys to believe they are girls. The publication is so politicized that it has tried to apply Cultural Marxism to colonizing Mars.

Actually if they are right then the ocean should recede because as the floor sinks it leaves room to hold more water. That being said there would be no rise in sea level and there may be even a lowering.
