No Good Deed Goes Unpunished

No good deed goes unpunished in the age of #MeToo mania — especially when it comes to chivalrous good deeds like helping a woman in distress:

Kenan Basic spent two weeks in a maximum security prison, lost his job and is now going through a divorce, after a 19-year-old woman made false accusations against him.

Mr Basic stopped to help the teenager in November last year after she crashed her car and pulled into a BP in Bankstown, in Sydney’s south-west.

Basic spent a couple of hours helping her get her car back in action, then followed her a short ways to make sure it didn’t break down again. She thanked him by telling the police that he sexually propositioned and stalked her. Charges were dropped when she finally admitted she was lying.

Mr Basic said the incident has deterred him from stopping and helping a young woman ever again.

Congratulations, progressive social engineers. There is one less male chauvinist out there. We are one step closer to utopia — a world in which no one dares help anyone because we have all been set against each other.
