Dem Pols Sink Below Even New York Times

Only one thing could be more of a contemptible farce than the New York Times: the party it serves. Doubling down on a despicable tactic that had already failed to keep him off the Supreme Court, the Times ran an obviously scurrilous piece accusing Brett Kavanaugh of engaging in bizarre, obscene, and strikingly uncharacteristic behavior decades ago in college. The supposed victim of Kavanaugh’s fictional assault did not remember it having occurred, but this information was removed by editors, confirming that the erstwhile Paper of Record exists not to inform, but to misinform.

Incredibly, even after the Slimes was forced to acknowledge that their smear job was unsubstantiated, Democrats are behaving as if at last they have the crime they need to destroy Brett Kavanaugh. Today Squad member Ayanna Pressley is to introduce an impeachment resolution against Kavanaugh, evidently instigated by the absurd and discredited story.

Barks Pressley:

“It is our responsibility to collectively affirm the dignity and humanity of survivors.”

A “survivor” is someone who makes #MeToo allegations, regardless of whether they are even remotely credible — and apparently regardless of whether they even remember the alleged assault having occurred.

By late Sunday, the paper had revised its story to include the fact that several friends of the alleged victim said she told them she did not recall the reported sexual assault in question.

Several Democratic presidential candidates, however, said that Kavanaugh should be impeached and did not back down after the editors’ note and revision to the story. Sens. Kamala Harris, D-Calif.; Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass.; Cory Booker, D-N.J.; South Bend, Ind. Mayor Pete Buttigieg; former Rep. Beto O’Rourke, D-Texas, and former Housing and Urban Development Secretary Julian Castro all called for impeachment after the initial Times report.

This despite the Christine Blasey Ford spectacle having made it obvious, even before the Sunday revision, that the accusations against Kavanaugh were almost certainly groundless. There is not a grain of decency between all of these candidates.

Harris continued to push for an investigation on Monday, even circulating an impeachment petition on her Twitter account.

That is, after the Times essentially admitted that its story was fake. Shockingly, Kamala Harris sits on the Senate Judiciary Committee. The Democrat Party truly has no meaningful standards.

They never give up, you have to give them that. First they decide who is guilty and how they should be punished. Then they fabricate one charge after another until they find one they can make stick.

Even if they fail to destroy Kavanaugh, Democrats may succeed in intimidating other decent people out of aspiring to high positions. Who wants to put their loved ones through what liberals have inflicted on Kavanaugh’s family? Yet we have a duty not to turn our country over to the likes of Ayanna Pressley and Kamala Harris.
