When I got my vax I told the pharmacist I had a needle phobia so he swapped out the needle on the syringe for a very fine needle like an insulin needle – I didn’t even feel it. He said the original needle on the syringe was rather large for a vaccine needle – he called it a “steroid needle” and also referred to it as a “government needle” although this was one of the early J & J vaccines that had been manufactured by the Netherlands.
