Chevalier founded a Columbia University group that posted “Death to America” and declared itself part of the same movement as Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Houthis. According to the Free Beacon, she also praised a convicted Palestinian terrorist involved in a bombing that killed two Israeli civilians. Within Democratic Socialist circles, critics have dubbed her a “Palestine ultra.”

Mamdani’s endorsement is more than a local political alliance—it’s a window into the direction of an increasingly radical Democratic Party. Candidates once confined to the activist fringe are now being elevated by the party’s rising socialist wing, bringing anti-Israel and anti-American rhetoric ever closer to the halls of Congress.

Free Beacon: A Democratic Socialist backed by Zohran Mamdani, Darializa Avila Chevalier, who is looking to stage an upset primary victory in New York’s 13th Congressional District, openly championed a notorious female terrorist convicted of plotting an Israeli supermarket bombing that killed two people, public records show (Free Beacon).

As a 20-year old, Chevalier was in the West Bank. She compared her experience there with what was going on here with Black Lives Matter: “The connections just solidified in my mind,” she said. “Oh, these are not only like systems, they are the same system. It was the same tear gas made in the USA that was being dropped on Gaza that was also being used against (Black Lives Matter) protesters in Ferguson.” Within the Democratic Socialists of America, an organization Avila Chevalier officially joined less than a year ago and which voted overwhelmingly to back her in January, skeptics have called her a “Palestine ultra” (City and State).
