Farmer’s Almanac Disagrees With Climate (scam) Prediction Center For NW
I know which one I’m going to trust more
Farmer’s Almanac’s 2026 winter forecast directly conflicts with Climate Prediction Center
The Farmer’s Almanac recently released its outlook for the fall season 2026 which predicts that the Pacific Northwest will be cooler and wetter than average. The prediction is in direct conflict with the Climate Prediction Center’s forecast of a warm and dry winter.
So just how accurate is the Farmer’s Almanac? The Maine-based publication has been doing long-range forecasts since the 1800s. They pull together 30 years’ worth of data and produce a climatological average. According to the Farmer’s Almanac, they tout their accuracy rate at about 80%, reminding readers that they are longer range based and not day to day.
Independent surveys have been done like one from the University of Illinois in 2010 that found the Farmer’s Almanac to be correct about 52% of the time.
Last fall, the Farmer’s Almanac predicted a warmer and wetter season for the Pacific Northwest. Keep in mind, this regional forecast includes California and Oregon as well. For the Seattle area, temperatures were warmer than average in September and November but slightly cooler than normal in October. As for rain, we fell below the seasonal average each month during the autumn season.
Still way more trustworthy than the Credentialed Media news
The Farmer’s Almanac outlook for the upcoming winter season is vague stating the PNW could see “less dependable snow,” while the CPC is more straightforward, showing warmer and dryer than normal weather.
The CPC is under the umbrella of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). It uses computer models, ocean temperatures, and jet streams to predict its long-range forecasts, which is all about “potential patterns and probabilities” and not 100% accuracy. As with any prediction beyond about six days out, it must be taken with a grain of salt.
And the Credentialed Media would prefer to trust the climate cult CPC, but, weirdly, the article fails to mention how accurate the long term prediction are for the CPC. No one seems to have done any study on their accuracy rate beyond an 8-10 day forecast, because they do not want it pointed out how badly they usually fail. And there is just the one on the Farmer’s Almanac from a highly leftist and climate cult university.
I guess time will tell who will be correct. Usually Warmists do not like making predictions under at least 20 years from now.
