Macron Condemns Violence, Blames Iran War for Fuel Surge
French President Emmanuel Macron on the 18th, at 8 p.m., local time, in a nationwide address, labeled the riots that erupted across the country, including in Paris, the previous day as “uncontrolled violence by far-left groups” and stated, “Those who attempted to bring down the Republic must be held accountable.”
In the live-streamed address from the Élysée Palace in Paris, Macron expressed “anger” and “shame” over the incidents, asking, “How could French people do this to France?” He then listed specific cases, including the fire at Limoges City Hall, the fire at a tourist information center in Lyon, the breach of the Marseille City Hall, and the looting of the Bordeaux prefecture.

Regarding the recent surge in fuel prices in France, Macron indirectly criticized U.S. President Donald Trump, stating, “This is a consequence of the Persian Gulf conflict [the U.S.-Iran war], which France is not a part of.” He added, “During my upcoming Middle East visit starting on the 19th, I will continue international efforts to secure France’s energy supply.”

Macron, however, emphasized the need to distinguish between legitimate protesters and violent actors. “We must never confuse those who destroy, break, and loot with protesters,” he said. “Concerns over rising living costs and fuel prices are legitimate.”
On student protests demanding improved educational conditions, Macron said, “I understand the concerns and deep anxieties of the youth.” He noted, “Students are worried about their future, living conditions, academic environments, career guidance, and their place in society.” Macron stressed, “We must listen to their voices without prejudice and without dismissing their difficulties.”
In other words, he and the French government are going to sweep the whole thing under the rug. The violent ones will not be deported, the government will continue to bring in Islamists and 3rd Worlders. Nothing will change.
And, of course, you get the hardcore French leftists blaming the police for daring to stop the looters and rioters
