Nidal Hasan to Get Firing Squad

It takes a while, but sometimes there is still justice. Muslim mass murderer Nidal Hasan will finally get his just deserts.

Via Military Times:

“Secretary of War Pete Hegseth has recommended — and President Donald J. Trump has approved — death by U.S. Army firing squad for convicted terrorist Nidal Malik Hasan, the jihadist who opened fire on unarmed American soldiers at Fort Hood in 2009,” Chief Pentagon Spokesman Sean Parnell announced.

The gun-free zone mentality has rendered even military facilities vulnerable to maniacs like Hasan:

Hasan, who was born in northern Virginia, walked into a Fort Hood readiness processing center on Nov. 5, 2009, and opened fire using a semi-automatic handgun.

Per Muslim tradition, he shouted “Allahu Akbar” during the attack.

Thirteen people were killed, including a pregnant soldier.

Too bad Hasan wasn’t executed before he could crow over Joe Biden’s abject surrender to the Taliban. Via the New York Post:

At trial, Hasan told a military judge that he was defending “the leadership of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, the Taliban.”

In 2021, amid the chaotic US withdrawal from Afghanistan, Hasan wrote a letter cheering on the Taliban.

“We Have Won!!!” Hasan wrote in the missive, according to Fox News.

A piece by professor of Christian ethics Andrew T. Walker inspired by the botched execution of Christa Pike clarifies why it was an excellent decision to give Hasan the firing squad rather than a needle:

[T]he overly clinical, medically sanitized nature of modern capital punishment is a mistake. It’s deceptively cruel because it attempts to mask what the state is justly doing: killing. Bring back what is efficient and works: hanging and firing squads. Make them public. Doubtlessly some will read that last sentence as an invitation to return to barbaric times. But former times drew on the wisdom of history that understood just how grave the crime of murder really is as a threat to the common good.

Murderers are not to be medicalized. They are to be executed in a manner that makes clear they will not be tolerated. The essential theatrical aspect of hanging and firing squads underscores the point of the execution.
