Love 'Em and Leash 'Em Welcomes Man's Best Friend to Irvine Regional Park

For those dog lovers out there this looks like a fun event coming up in a couple of weeks at Irvine Regional Park. The event is put on by the people at OC Parks and is free to attend.

LOVE ‘EM AND LEASH ‘EM WELCOMES MAN’S BEST FRIEND TO IRVINE REGIONAL PARK
(Orange, Calif.) – OC Parks is pleased to present Love ‘Em and Leash ‘Em, a special day for dog lovers and their four-legged friends at Irvine Regional Park on Saturday, September 15 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Various dog-specific vendors will be on-site offering dog products, dog agility demonstrations and pet advice including OC Animal Care, Irvine Animal Care Center, PETCO, Orange County Sheriff’s Department Search and Rescue Bloodhound Team, Tackett Service Dogs, Sunny Saints Bernard Rescue, Newfoundland Club of Southern California, SoCal Dachshund Relief Inc., Northwood Animal Hospital and more. Dog adoptions will be available for same-day take home and the first family to adopt a dog will win a special prize. A Dog Kissing Contest and a Dog Cake Walk will be hosted for dogs and owners. The famous canine actor, model and biker dog Emma Zen will also be making a special appearance at the event.
From 8 to 9 a.m., prior to the main event, Pooch Sitters, volunteers and a ranger will each host one in a series of guided specialty pooch hikes customized to accommodate every breed, size and age of dog. The Pokey Pooch Hike will lead small and older dogs on an easy-paced, short-distance flat land walk. The Moderate Mutt Hike invites the mid-level pup on an intermediate walk. The Hardy Hound Hike will take the more agile pups on an advanced  jaunt through Irvine Regional Park. Registration for the three hikes will open at 8:30 a.m.
Food trucks Dogzilla and Kidbeanz Espresso will be selling snacks and delicious treats throughout the event. Bring your pooch for a day of fun or adopt a dog that needs a loving home at Irvine Regional Park’s Love ‘Em and Leash ‘Em.
