“Red” rocker Sammy Hagar claims abducted by aliens

“They were plugged into me. It was a download situation … Or, they uploaded something from my brain, like an experiment.”

Dateline Zero – Sammy Hagar’s autobiography holds nothing back. At all. He lets loose about sex, drugs, his relationship with Eddie Van Halen, his childhood, his abusive father, and much more.

“I’m not a liar,” Hagar says. “I’d rather tell you the truth and deal with it.”

However, Hagar did apparently hold back on one thing: an encounter with an extraterrestrial.

The experience is detailed in his book, Red: My Uncensored Life in Rock; except that it’s related as a dream.

“It was real,” Hagar told a reporter during an interview at mtvhive.com, posted early this morning

The truth of the story seemed to have come out accidentally during the interview. Another thing that came out during the interview is the likelihood that there is more to Hagar’s otherworldly experiences that he is keeping to himself… for now.

After the cultural revolution of the 1960s, and the excesses of the 1980s, people like Sammy Hagar can talk about drugs and booze all day long, and people will smile and nod. He can talk about having had sex with fans under the stage during live shows, and people will smirk.

But to talk about a profound mystical experience? Hagar admitted in the interview that it might make him “sound like a crazy person” to some readers.

To be fair, Sammy Hagar did say that he brought up UFO experiences with Joel Selvin, who put the autobiography together. “He talked me out of it,” Hagar said. “He’d be like, ‘Aw, people don’t want to hear that shit.’” So it’s probably less about Hagar’s embarrassment, and more about Joel Selvin’s reluctance.

During the interview, Hagar said he believes in UFOs; and when asked whether he believed he had been abducted, Hagar answers: “I think I have.”

The reporter seemed surprised. “What? Really? I was kidding. You seriously believe that?” he asks.

Hagar laughs and goes on to explain that a passage in the book described as a dream in which he is contacted by aliens from outer space in California was, in fact, reality.

The tale describes how the beings tapped into his mind through a wireless connection. “It was real,” Hagar told the reporter. “They were plugged into me. It was a download situation … Or, they uploaded something from my brain, like an experiment.”

Hagar goes on to describe another experience at the age of four where he believes he saw an alien space ship in broad daylight hovering over a country field where his family lived.

I have been on the run from the nuthouse for four years now and Hagar is crazier than I am. I dont even claim to have been raped on an alien spaceship. Mama told me some things are better left unsaid.
