I hate to hear that about anyone and hope she will be okay.
Being in the profession that he is, I wonder if they have ever discussed the time when one or the other may pass.
I know my father made a pact with his best friend that said that whichever passes first he is to do something to let the other know that there is life after death.
One evening after dad had gone to bed he heard three very loud knocks. He investigated and found nothing. The following morning he received a call from his friends wife stating that he had passed away that night. My father asked what time. She said she heard him fall in the kitchen at about 2:00am. It was a few minutes after when my father was awakened by the three loud knocks.
About twenty years prior my father had installed a door knocker on his front door that made a very distinctive sound.
The night my father died I was just drifting off to sleep when I heard three loud knocks. I thought it was odd because it sounded just like the door knocker at my fathers house. Then I realized something. My father was in the hospital recuperating from a surgical procedure. I realized that he must have died and was contacting me. About that same instant the phone rang. It was hospital. They said that my fathers condition had changed but wouldn’t say anything further. I said to the nurse, I know you can’t say due to policies and such but can you tell me this. She said maybe. I asked, should I hurry. There was short pause and then she said no. Of course when I got there they informed me that he had passed away. I looked at the time of death and it was within a minute after his death that I heard the three knocks.
I would like Jason Hawes to keep up his good work but I sure hope he doesn’t have to find out there is an afterlife by way of loosing his wife.

You are welcome. I was involved in a motorcycle wreck 22 years ago. A man cleaned theaters at night had fallen asleep on the way home, crossed the center of the road and hit me head on. I had to have 8 operations. The last and longest (7 1/2 hour) combined with the previous 7 took it’s toll on me. I was taken off of the ventilator and wheeled into the recovery area. Luckily a nurse checked on me and found that I had stopped breathing. Of course I was resuscitated. The doctor came in the next day and when I mentioned to him of my experience he shut the door and pulled out a small pocket notepad. He then started asking me all these questions while taking notes. Then he just told me to tell him everything that I could remember. I cannot put into words that we human beings in our current form could understand, nor are their words that exist that can accurately convey my experience. I can say this, compared to our existence in my body and where I went could be best analogized as going from being cold, alone, scared and lonely to a place filled with warmth. peace, happiness and belonging but on a scale that goes beyond euphoric. Again, there are no words. The biggest disappointment of my conscious existence was the moment I was brought back. I screamed inside my head over and over “oh no, Oh please God no. I’m back. The pain immediately enveloped me. Not the pain of my injuries but rather the pain of being alive again. I do not fear death. Matter of fact I welcome it. What I fear, and I think most others would agree is that they don’t fear dying, they fear the that they may have to endure great suffering to get there. Unfortunately this holds true for many as they deteriorate from some disease or just old age that goes on for years, each one wracked with more pain. But when the moment finally happens, the two things you will desire least is (1) To look back & (2) to go back.
Don’t get me wrong, life is great but what awaits on the other side just absolutely blows it away.
So why is it the way that it is? You will have to ask God. I have saved two people’s lives since I came back. Maybe that it is why. I can’t say with any certainty. What I can tell you is this, each and everyone of us will find out soon enough.

Hope she gets well. Bless them.
