Some Hoarders Keep Everything! Women’s Mummified Body Found In Her Home

Oh, mummy, don’t leave me!
A woman’s mummified body was found inside her San Francisco home on Saturday.
Police say that they believe the woman, thought to be in her 90s when she passed, had been dead for at least five years while her 65-year-old daughter lived upstairs, the Los Angeles Times reports.
The home was covered in garbage and infested with rats and bugs, officials say. Investigators also found 300 bottles of urine. “It’s almost unprecedented,” Victor Lim, a legislative aide to San Francisco County Supervisor Eric Mar, told the paper. “This is not typical in San Francisco.”
Authorities were first alerted to the condition of the home last Tuesday after the woman’s daughter sought the help of an attorney when the property was put up for auction. The attorney then called the police.
“It was Hoarders 101, or even worse than the TV show,” one neighbor told theSan Francisco Chronicle.
It took the police several days of searching – as well as the aid of a professional cleaning crew – before the elderly woman’s body was found. Meanwhile, her 65-year-old daughter was taken for medical treatment.
The San Francisco city attorney’s office is investigating the case.
