AFP PHOTO EXPO RECAP & Donkey FUN
Joao Carlos Daily Dose
This past two weeks have been insane , I have been working on so many amazing projects that I have neglected my blogging , so today in between shoots and prepping for my next big adventure to Whistler BC , I will try and recap a little of what I have been up to .
at AFP FOTOEXPO
For Starters ,I attended the FotoExpo in Caldas da Rainha , this was a great event organized by the AFP ( professional photographers association of Portugal ) which I am a member of . I was also a guest speaker at the Show , I spoke mainly about the importance of personal projects , it was a great venue and I was blown away by all the support from everyone , below you have my interview ( in Portuguese on Caldas TV )
One of the shoots I did last week was for a organization called DonkyShelter.org.
The Association for the Preservation of Donkeys – Burricadas is a
non-governmental organisation launched in March of 2007 with the aim to protect and to raise awareness for the donkey in Portugal.
The Donkey Shelter (Abrigo do Jumento) was
founded by Burricadas as a rescue centre for old, abandoned or ill-treated donkeys, where these animals receive all the necessary care and for many, it represents a well-deserved retirement.
The Association does not receive any form of state funding or subsidies. All sources of income for this project proceed solely from public support, namely from donations, sale of merchandising and small activities.
I have created a series of images that will come together in a book and prints , the proceeds will then go to the Donkey Shelter , keep an eye out here for updates on this project , until then here are a couple of images from the day . |
