It would seem CNN host Piers Morgan is still not quite ready to fully admit the US government has devolved into an utterly tyrannical state.
On his prime-time show Thursday, Morgan declared the recent IRS’ targeting of conservative groups and Justice Department’s phone tapping scandal only “vaguely” resemble “tyrannical behavior.”
Speaking to guest comedian and illusionist Penn Jillette about the public scandals, Morgan stated gun rights lobbyists and Tea Party groups in the past had falsely “squealed a lot about this kind of thing,” but now “it’s absolutely crystal clear that that’s exactly what the IRS has been doing.”
But according to Morgan, the White House’s recent scandals have merely “bordered” on tyrannical behavior.
Given the markedly stark departure from his former stance, however, perhaps the recent controversies will serve as a catalyst for Mr. Morgan to finally go research the growing tyranny that has been metastasizing since even before he was born.
