GMO Labelling: You Deserve The Right To Know The ongoing effort to label products that contain GMOs (genetically modified organisms) in America has undoubtedly been a tough fight with a much recent attempt casting yet another shadow on a demand that so many activists, farmers, and citizens like myself are still very much optimistic about. Last week, an amendment to a federal farm bill that will simply allow states to decide if they want to have labels on food products sold to consumers containing GMO ingredients, was rejected by an overwhelming vote of 71 to 27. With this bill being voted down, another chance at getting labels on GMO products was squashed once again by the Senate – keeping millions of Americans dining in the dark, unable to embrace their democratic right of knowing what they are really eating. In over sixty nations around the world, including Japan, Australia, Thailand and the European Union member states, you can find labels on products that contain GMOs.
