Obama’s April Fool’s Prank: Claims 7.1 Million ObamaCare Signups

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

Can we trust a man who has lied so often about ObamaCare to tell the truth this time?

In a word, NO!

In the shaky months of the ObamaCare rollout we were repeatedly told that we’d have to wait weeks for reports on the number of signups. That was when there was no good news to report. Now, surprise, surprise, less than 24 hours after the March 31 deadline for enrolling in ObamaCare Obama held a mission accomplished style campaign event in the White House Rose Garden in which he touted 7.1 million ObamaCare enrollments. When asked to explain how all of a sudden the White House was able to issue immediate updates on enrollment numbers Press Secretary Jay Carney said that system improvements made it possible.

Apparently, system improvements did not make it possible to release how many of these people had actually paid for their new insurance and how many were getting insurance for the first time and were not signing up because their previous policies had been canceled as required by ObamaCare. Or, what is more likely, the government has this information and it’s not politically favorable to Obama for it to be released in the same way early enrollment numbers were withheld.

However, it’s reported that a Rand Corp. study shows that only 850,000 previously uninsured Americans signed up for ObamaCare. So, if we accept the 7.1 million number that leaves over 6 million people whose previous insurance was canceled. Many of those will see a huge increase in premiums and deductibles while losing doctors and hospitals they liked. They are not at all happy.

And why should we accept the 7.1 million signup number? After all, it’s being pushed by the President who said over and over and over “if you like your plan you can keep it. Period!” The same President who said “if you like your doctor you can keep him. Period!” The same President who promised his plan would save the average family $2500 a year in health insurance costs.

Much of that earned Obama Politifact’s “Lie of the Year.” And the Washington Post gives Obama three Pinocchios for adding Medicaid re-enrollment numbers to the ObamaCare thus distorting the signup number.

Will we eventually find out the real numbers of this scam? Probably. But Obama knows that any further fact checking stories will be buried in the back of newspapers. Meanwhile, his declaration of success is on every front page and at the top of every network news show. As Winston Churchill once said “A lie gets halfway around the world before the truth has a chance to get its pants on.” The only way to pay back Obama for his duplicity is on election day November 4; little more than 200 days from now!
