Former Congressional Candidate William Drummond Endorses Democrat Gwen Graham

Former Reform Party candidate for Florida’s Second District, William Drummond II, has endorsed former opponent Gwen Graham. William Drummond dropped out of the race for the Second District because of family reasons, and did not file with the state. In the last election he made a write in bid Florida’s First District, before getting redistricted into the Second District.

“Gwen Graham and I see eye to eye on 97 percent of the issues,” said Mr. Drumond. “Her platform was almost a perfect reflection of my own, so I thought it would be best to endorse her”.

Drummond is a member of the Lost Dogs, a group of Reform Party moderates that once voted for Democratic candidates backed by the Democrats Blue Dog Coalition. Since the 2010 election, Blue Dog type Democrats have been leaving the Democratic Party, and the Reform Party has made efforts to recruit them.

Since Gwen Graham is backed by the Blue Dog Coalition, this endorsement came with no surprise.

For this endorsement, William Drummond shot a video for his channel YouTube Channel entitled Ten Minutes to Nowhere. In that video, Drummond and Gwen talked for ten minutes about the Second District Race, several key issues and made references to their personal lives.

The Second District Race is close with Republican incumbent Steve Sutherland and Democratic challenger Gwen Graham running neck and neck. News reports say that the Second District is one of the most watched and hotly house races in the 2014 election.

“Gwen Graham is the best choice to represent Florida’s Second District,” added Mr. Drummond. “Under Steve Southerland’s watch, the economy of the Second District has been stagnant, there is high unemployment and the government has made no steps to correct the economy here or elsewhere in the nation. Sutherland must go”.
