Visual Character Assassination of James Comey

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

Since James Comey accounced the FBI’s probe into Hillary Clinton’s email case last Friday, I’ve noticed how nearly every picture used by the media shows Comey looking weak, angry, or defensive.  That made me wonder; Back in July, after James Comey recommended that no charges be brought against Hillary, what kind of pictures did they use?

Answer: Good ones.  In most of the July pictures, Comey looks like he’s in charge, upholding the truth, and being honest.  Even in articles that were negative towards Comey, the media still used good pictures.

This kind of bias can be seen as a form of “Visual Character Assassination”: The slandering of a person through the use of pictures, usually with the intention of destroying public confidence in that person

The use of negative pictures is quite subversive as they involentarily create negative feelings towards Comey.  Furthermore, they prime the reader to be more susceptable towards any negative arguments made by the author.  Regardless of merit.

Below are some examples of the Visual Character Assassination of James Comey in the media.

Very interesting comparison. Clearly there is manipulation at play. Now that they “got to him” and he’s canceled the possibility of charges, I wonder if they will put a halo over his head and welcome him back into their fold. Look into it for a followup article.
