why all drugs should be legal
Yes, I said it and I know its bound to bring some controversy but lets truly think about this for a moment.
The war on drugs in America has cost the American people over 1 trillion dollars and thousands of lives. For what purpose? Because it’s bad for you? Let me ask you a question, if heroin was legal would you do it? If you answered no then you are like most people in America. If you answered yes then you should have to deal with the consequences of your actions.
Now I don’t ethically agree to smoke marijuana but let’s be honest if weed were legal and you could just buy it from a store or grow it yourself, no one would have a need to go to a drug dealer where you are exposed to dangerous drugs. You can ask almost any addict, they started with weed and then they typically get persuaded to do harder stuff by their drug dealer or their friends. Therefore by making all drugs legal, it would, in turn, create fewer addicts.
If all drugs were legal then there wouldn’t be any reason for drug smuggling or gang wars. There is so much violence in America related to drugs. If we would just make it legal than America would be a much safer place.
Who is the government to decide what I put in my body? If I want to do something destructive to my body let me do it. One of the main ideals of liberty that our country was designed app on was the fact that “my liberty to swing my arms, ends where your face begins ” this meaning that as long as I’m not taking the liberty away from someone else I can do whatever I want and that’s that. Every law that says something against that is an infringement of our rights as American citizens.
