Sen. Cory Booker Cries “Tears of Rage” Over Shithole Countries

“Democratic Sen. Cory Booker seethed with anger over Trump’s alleged “shithole countries” comment during a hearing with Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen.

During a hearing in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee, Nielsen faced numerous questions about Trump’s alleged insistence that countries like Haiti and African countries are “shithole countries.”

“I hurt,” Booker cried. “When Dick Durbin called me I had tears of rage when I heard about this experience in this meeting.”

“For you not to feel that hurt and that pain and to dismiss some of the questions of my colleagues saying, ‘I’ve already answered that line of questions’ when tens of millions of Americans are hurting right now because of what they’re worried about right now in the White House — that’s unacceptable to me,” Booker yelled at Nielsen. …”

Donald Trump makes a perfectly reasonable observation: Haiti is a Fourth World country. It is ranked 163 out of 187 countries in the world. Norway is ranked 1. All of the world’s poorest, most dysfunctional countries – outside of warzones like Syria and Afghanistan – are African. Trump asks why we importing people from shithole countries instead of rich countries like Norway.

Haiti is a literal shithole:

“Haiti’s capital city doesn’t have a sewer system. Instead, so-called nightsoil, or human excrement, is largely removed by hand by workers who toil at night under cover of darkness.

Port-au-Prince, Haiti, is one of the largest cities in the world without a central sewage system. Most of the more than 3 million residents use outhouses and rely on workers with some of the worst jobs in the world, hauling away human excrement by hand one bucket at a time. The men are called bayakou, and they work in the dark by candlelight. Rebecca Hersher spent a night with a group of them.

REBECCA HERSHER, BYLINE: As soon as we arrive, you can smell it. It’s a heavy, earthy stench, like rotten eggs and grosser things.

An estimated 1 in 5 Haitians don’t have access to any kind of latrine. Those who do have outhouses generally hire a bayakou to clean them out. Tonight, a team of four bayakou are emptying one outhouse. One of the guys, Gabriel Toto, is sitting on the edge of the hole, his bare feet in the brown soup below, holding a big stick.

GABRIEL TOTO: Oh.

HERSHER: The stick measures about 15 feet deep. Tonight, with a foreign reporter around, Gabriel is wearing knee-length pants and gloves. Usually, he works naked. …”

In Port-au-Prince, naked men remove piles of human feces by hand because the city doesn’t have a central sewer system. The Democrats and cucked Republicans are too politically correct to acknowledge the truth. Only Donald Trump has the spine to acknowledge there are literal shithouses in Haiti and there is a world of difference between immigrants from Haiti and Norway.

Cory Booker is playing politics in Trump’s wheelhouse.
