Scott Greer Out At The Daily Caller

I’m sitting here in Alabama.

It seems like I am the least surprised person on the internet that this keeps happening:

“The former Daily Caller writer and editor Scott Greer has severed all ties with the conservative website after acknowledging that he had written under a pseudonym for the white-supremacist Radix Journal.

Greer, who stepped down as an editor at The Daily Caller in June to write a book, said he would drop his contributor status last week after The Atlantic confronted him with leaked chat logs that showed he had spent some of his time at the website also writing as “Michael McGregor” for Radix, the online publication founded by the “alt-right” leader Richard Spencer, who wants to turn America into a white ethno-state.

The Atlantic last week was the first to report ties between a former Department of Homeland Security official, Ian Smith, and a group of known white nationalists, including Spencer. Greer’s role at Radix offers yet another glimpse into how members of an underground white-nationalist scene—emboldened by the rise of Donald Trump during the 2016 election—were able to operate relatively undetected in conservative institutions. …”

For the record, I don’t know Scott Greer. I’ve only heard of him through seeing his articles at The Daily Caller. Apparently, there is a vast White Nationalist conspiracy.

Peter Brimelow attended the gathering, a birthday bash for Kudlow, one day after a White House speechwriter was dismissed in the wake of revelations that he had spoken alongside Brimelow on a 2016 panel.

Brimelow, 70, was once a well-connected figure in mainstream conservative circles, writing for Dow Jones and National Review. But over the past two decades, he has become a zealous promoter of white-identity politics on Vdare.com, the anti-immigration website that he founded in 1999. …”

It involves Peter Brimelow attending Larry Kudlow’s birthday party.

“In the past two years, leaders of an emboldened white nationalism have burst into the forefront of national politics and coalesced around a so-called alt-right subculture as they have endeavored to make their ideology part of the mainstream. Recent developments have shed light on previously unknown connections between white-nationalist activists and the Trump administration. Now, the Department of Homeland Security has denounced “all forms of violent extremism” following the resignation of a policy analyst who had connections with white nationalists, according to leaked emails obtained by The Atlantic.

The emails show that the official, Ian M. Smith, had in the past been in contact with a group that included known white nationalists as they planned various events. On one of the email threads, the address of the alt-right white nationalist leader Richard Spencer is included, as well as Smith’s. Another group of recipients includes Smith as well as Jared Taylor, the founder of the white nationalist publication American Renaissance, who calls himself a “white advocate.” …”

It involves someone named Ian Smith who worked for DHS.

“(CNN)A speechwriter for President Donald Trump who attended a conference frequented by white nationalists has left the White House.

CNN’s KFile reached out to the White House last week about Darren Beattie, a policy aide and speechwriter, who was listed as speaking at the 2016 H.L. Mencken Club Conference.

The Mencken Club, which is named for the early 20th century journalist and satirist whose posthumously published diaries revealed racist views, is a small annual conference started in 2008 and regularly attended by well-known white nationalists such as Richard Spencer. The schedule for the 2016 conference listed panels and speeches by white nationalist Peter Brimelow and two writers, John Derbyshire and Robert Weissberg, who were both fired in 2012 from the conservative magazine National Review for espousing racist views. …”

It involves a Jewish man named Darren Beattie who once attended a H.L. Mencken Club conference.

I don’t think this incident is related, but it is part of the broader phenomenon:

“A Republican county official in Pennsylvania has resigned after writing Facebook posts calling NFL players who protest during the national anthem “baboons” and “ignorant blacks.”

Carla Maloney, who served as secretary of the Beaver County Republican Committee, wrote in a resignation letter Friday that her posts were “distasteful, inappropriate and insensitive.”

“I know my posts and comments were disrespectful to not only the people I love, but families across the country,” she wrote.

Maloney wrote several Facebook posts about the NFL last year under a different name, before she was appointed to her secretary position. The Beaver Countian, a local news website, first obtained screenshots of the posts. …”

I repeat myself.

YOU’RE WASTING YOUR TIME TRYING TO INFILTRATE THE GOP. All you are doing is self censoring yourself and policing your associations to the point of absurdity by trying to work within mainstream conservatism. You are accomplishing nothing but providing free man power for the GOP to advance its own agenda. You’re not “moving the Overton Window” either. That’s a cope.

BTW, Donald Trump didn’t change anything either. If anything is true, the purges and policing is worse than ever before. No one who was even halfway interesting ever got hired by the Trump administration. Unfortunately, we still have people pushing this “secret agents” line of nonsense. It effectively means dumbing down your content, taking your voice out of the public square and allowing yourself to be used by conservatives until you are inevitably purged by them.
