She’s an Actress, Not a Factress: Emmy Rossum Holds ‘Time’s Up’ Moment of Silence for Christine Ford

C’mon, Hollywood.

Following in the not-so-impressive shoes of Alyssa Milano as of late (to my dismay — see here, here, and here), Shameless actress Emmy Rossum thought she’d get her politics on. Although, given the Hollywood bubble and the apparent level of understanding among many Tinseltown stars, I’d say there’s a fair chance Rossum has no clue that the allegations against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh are completely unsubstantiated.

Either way, Rossum’s ode to odiousness came by way of an on-set moment of silence Monday. The honored? Christine Blasey Ford — the woman who seems to have suddenly realized something happened 36 years ago, and she’s mad. Meanwhile, I can’t remember what I did yesterday.

Moving on…

Emmy tweeted out this stinker:

Oddly — and, of course, daftly — Rossum used an emoji of the scales of justice (you may not see it displayed above). She perhaps forgot that justice is weighed by evidence, of which there is none to support Ford’s allegation.

But don’t harsh a star’s mellow — it’s more important to feel really cool and informed and enlightened.

After the awkward quiet, Emmy declared — also daftly — “Believe all women.”

Why?

That’s a good question for Time’s Up as well, but there’s not much chance it’s going to get asked, much less answered. Also Monday, the movement was more interested in blindly following Democratic contention than any semblance of investigation or rightfulness. Oh — and they thought it’d be really cool if everybody dressed like Johnny Cash:

“Believe survivors.” Of course, if someone claims to have survived something that didn’t happen, that dictate becomes “Believe liars.”

Also accompanied by the scales of justice, the Time’s Up tweet was a real headscratcher. But don’t scratch too hard, Time’s Up pioneer Alyssa — dandruff will show easily on a black shirt.

If only the real Man in Black were here. He could sing “Ring of Fire,” as a tribute to the flaming goofiness — and injustice — of belief based on sexism rather than evidence.

#Fail.
