CNN’s Brian Stelter Sees Epic Ratings Collapse Over the Past Six Months

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

I knew CNN’s ratings were tanking, but my word at these latest numbers.

Brian Stelter, who fancies himself gatekeeper of the media sphere, spends his days obsessing over Fox News and ignoring all bad reporting and hackish behavior from his own network. He hosts a low-rated weekend show called “Reliable Sources,” where he claims to be an unbiased observer of media.

But when I saw low-rated, even I was surprised at just how low. John Nolte compiled the two data points, but you can find the base numbers at the links below for verification.

Stelter, a left-wing conspiracy theorist who serves as a reactionary mouthpiece for his boss, Jeff Zucker, the far-left extremist responsible for running CNN into the ratings dirt, was at least able to average 967,000 viewers during the first four weeks of this year, from January 6 to January 27.

But during the four weeks that just passed —  from June 16 to July 7Reliable Sourceshas only been able to average 557,000 viewers.

That works out to be a whopping 42% drop in viewership in just six months. It’s hard to explain how just how awful that is. If CNN’s personalities were actually held to any real standards, Stelter would be staring at the unemployment line with a drop in audience like that.

But perhaps all cable news is doing badly and this is just a sign of a less engaged news media market over the past few months? Nah. For one, the news cycle is far more engaging right now than it was earlier in the year.

Secondly, here’s Fox News’ numbers for their show “Media Buzz,” which is not only a time slot competitor to Reliable Sources, but also competes directly on content as a show reporting on the media.

During these last four weeks, between June 16 and July 7, MediaBuzz averaged more than twice as many viewers as Reliable Sources: 1.135 million compared to Stelter’s pathetic 557,000.

What’s more, during the first four weeks of the year, MediaBuzz averaged 1.372 million, which means MediaBuzz has only lost a negligible five percent of its viewers since the beginning of the year, which is a whole lot less than Stelter’s breathtaking 42 percent.

Just brutal for CNN and Stelter.

These people are only legends in their own mind. Their ratings continue to drop like a stone and they simply don’t have the influence they think they do. Imagining what their ratings would be without thousands of captive viewers within airports should be nightmarish for CNN’s top brass.

But they’ve decided it’s all about being anti-Trump at all times. So they’ll sit back and watch their ratings burn while hosting white nationalists to slap at Trump. There’s no integrity left at that dumpster fire of a network.
