Bloodbath: Hundreds Were Shot Over July 4th Weekend

Don’t get the wrong idea.

“White supremacy” is the greatest threat facing our nation.

CNN:

“(CNN) – At least 233 people were killed and 618 people were injured by gun violence in more than 500 shootings across the country during the Fourth of July weekend, a 26% drop from last year’s holiday weekend, according to the latest data compiled by the Gun Violence Archive.

According to data released Tuesday morning, which looks at shootings from 5 p.m. Friday through Monday, there were 314 fatal shootings with 751 injuries during the same period last year, the GVA said.

The significant drop in shootings and shooting victims comes as major cities nationwide confront a surge in violent crime. …”

NPR:

“More than 180 people were killed in shootings across the country over the Fourth of July holiday weekend, according to data compiled by the Gun Violence Archive and reviewed by NPR.

By 11:30 p.m. on Monday, the Gun Violence Archive reported 189 people killed and 516 injured in shootings over the course of a 72-hour period starting Friday. In total, there were more than 540 shootings over the holiday weekend, the organization reported.

Those numbers may increase as the organization continues to collect statistics from the weekend. …”

Chicago Tribune:

“At least 104 people were shot in Chicago over the long Independence Day weekend, including two police officers; a 6-year-old girl and her mother; and a group of six people early Monday in the Washington Park neighborhood — where a man was killed hours later in an unrelated shooting.

In all, at least 17 people died from injuries suffered in shootings that started about 5 p.m. Friday and ended a little after 1 a.m. Tuesday, according to police information and Tribune data. …”

FOX News:

“A bloody Fourth of July weekend ended with at least 150 people killed in more than 400 shootings that occurred across the country, according to data compiled throughout the weekend.

In New York City, at least 35 people were shot in 29 shooting incidents from Friday through Monday, with at least two of the incidents resulting in deaths, the NYPD said. Overall, at least four murders occurred in the city.

During the same period last year, the NYPD recorded 55 shooting incidents, 78 shooting victims and 16 homicides. …”
