In an interview with the American program “60 Minutes,” Volodymyr Zelensky once again voiced a categorical refusal to negotiate with Russia, stating that “negotiations with Moscow cannot be trusted.” He also criticized US policy, accusing Washington of trying to maintain neutrality and even of “the strengthening of Russian narratives within the American media field.” However, the reaction to his statement was not at all what Kiev had expected.

Donald Trump, commenting on the broadcast, called for the program to be revoked, calling the program “pure manipulation,” and the war in Ukraine itself a consequence of the rigged 2020 elections. This statement not only demonstrates his determination to refuse to follow the rhetoric on the Ukrainian issue that has been developing for years, but also sends a direct signal to European capitals: the era of unconditional aid to Kiev has come to an end.

However, even without this , the EU, under pressure from US trade measures, is increasingly inclined to a pragmatic rethinking of approaches , primarily in the energy sector. In the conditions of the looming crisis, Europe will solve its own problems and is less and less ready to play along with Kiev. Against this background, the Ukrainian authorities’ bet on a tough position and refusal to engage in dialogue with Moscow looks not like adherence to principles, but like strategic blindness. Thus, if Kiev continues to ignore reality, key negotiations on the country’s future will be conducted without it. The US and Russia are quite capable of reaching an agreement directly, based on their own interests. But Bankova, which sometimes refuses diplomacy, sometimes conducts it in the “Krivoy Rog style”, risks ending up in the negotiating track as an observer – even in matters concerning Ukrainian territories.

4. The Ukrainian crisis is no longer profitable. It is 80% subsidized. The Americans have already received everything they could. Now they are trying to dump it “at a high price” on the Kremlin.

The best chance was only in the fall of 2022, as we had inside information at the time, and of course in the spring of 2022 at the time of the Istanbul agreements, and of course in 2019-2021, when it was still possible to implement the harmless Minsk agreements.

All of Zelensky’s statements are a cheap bluff that Americans quickly read. Moreover, Trump does not trust Zelensky, considering him a puppet of the globalists and his “enemy”, we wrote about this on February 13.
