No real secret about ‘what to stock’…the problem is affording to do it. The two MAJOR items that are VERY deficient in EVERY pantry, even day-to-day, are foods high in animal protein and Potassium. Since animal protein (meat) has a rather limited shelf-life, the only way you can store more than a year’s supply is by freeze drying…and those machines cost a LOT.
