London, 22nd August 2012 – One of the foremost international children’s charities – Educating the Children – is set to enjoy the support of SEO traffic specialist Alchemy Viral for its projects in Africa.

Alchemy Viral is one of Europe’s leading Web Search Optimisation agencies and will back ETC in its work in the Masai Mara region, where it works to raise awareness of children’s issues. Recent campaigning has concentrated on Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) and enforced childhood marriages for young girls.

Educating the Children wants to raise awareness of the FGM and enforced childhood marriage practices, with some girls in Masai Mara made to wed as young as 8. Andreas Voniatis, Managing Director of Alchemy Viral, hopes that his company’s support will help ETC launch other projects like its recent one for building a girls’ secondary school in Masai Mara.

UK tourists have long associated the Masai Mara with safari holidays, and haven’t perhaps known that the region’s people are very neglected. One of ETC’s founders took a trip to the region and found that there were poor school conditions everywhere, plus also too few teachers and low education levels.

Andreas Voniatis comments, “I have great sympathy with the aims of ETC. My daughter is just 3 months old. Like every parent in every country I have high hopes for her. I can’t imagine her being denied an education, or even worse being a victim of enforced marriage or FGM”.

“I want to spread the word about the charity’s work. We will be quite overt in our support of ETC to all of the people we communicate with, be it by email, our website, or corporate activities. We are also supporting the charity with what we do best… raising their profile on the web. We have already created a Facebook page for the charity and added a link to our Facebook page. We are Tweeting regularly about ETC and teaching them also the importance of regular publishing and how to earn coverage across the web”, Andreas continued.

Sonal Kadchha, co-founder of ETC, commented on the support of Alchemy Viral: “I’m very pleased that Andreas has come on board to support ETC – not only is he contributing financially but his help in increasing our online presence is invaluable given the importance of social media in the world today”.

Andreas Voniatis will head out to Masai Mara in person to see Educating the Children’s work with his own eyes later on this year. The charity recently announced that by way of a thank you for Alchemy Viral’s support one of the new school’s classrooms will be named ‘Julia’ in honour of Andreas’ young daughter.
