Pioneer Ghost Sightings Encourage Guests to Book Hotel Rooms at Local Calgary Hotels

Most hotels have guests that gather together for an annual conference or convention, but one group of Calgary hotels has people who gather at their hotel for a different reason. Every October, hundreds reserve rooms at the Valley Inn and Suites chain in Calgary, but they are not hoping to learn about finance or catch up with old friends. They are hoping to catch a glimpse of the illusive traveling pioneer ghost.

“There has long been a rumor going around that an ancient, yet very active ghost travels through a specific group of hotels once a year”, said Harry Rudely, a historian of the supernatural. “This supernatural ghost used to be a part of a traveling group of pioneers, but came to an untimely passing before reaching his final destination.”

Visitors to the Valley Inn and Suites chain believe that this pioneer ghost comes and visits the hotels once a year. He will roam the halls, dine with guests, and even do some traditional haunting.

“It is not uncommon for ghosts to get very active once a year”, said Rudely. “This usually happens right around the time of their untimely passing, but it can happen at a point in time that is very important to the ghost. We think this ghost gets active at the time when he should have been at his final destination.”

Guests from all over the world gather at this chain of hotels in hopes of catching a glimpse of the ghost. Some of them come every year in an effort to create new memories, while others come just for the rare chance to experience the supernatural.

“It is so much fun to see people from all over gather for this event”, said Gina Roads, an organizer for the event. “We have people who are just getting started in the supernatural world, while others have been a part of it for years. It really is amazing.”

Each guest has a different experience with the ghost and many of them refuse to discuss it outside of the sacred circle of supernatural believers. This sort of thing is not uncommon, as many people believe that if they share their events the ghost will not visit them again next year.

“The ghost sighting has become so popular that the city of Calgary may make it an annual festival”, explained Roads. “It would be amazing to have the whole city celebrating alongside us.”
