What Is the Beast the Harlot of Revelation Is Sitting On?
THE HARLOT AND THE BEAST ARE TWO SEPERATE THINGS.
In Revelation chapters 13, 17, & 18 we read about a beast that the Harlot is sitting on. Many say that the woman and the beast both represent Rome. It seems to me that they cannot both represent Rome because the woman is separate from the beast, she is just sitting or riding it.
THE BEAST IS A FUTURE EMPIRE
The beast has many characteristics of empires in history. You can see that if you compare the beast with what we are told in Dan. 7 But we are told that this empire in Revelation is one that will arise in the end times.
“And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast.” Rev. 17:12
These ten kings correspond to the ten toes of Daniel chapter two. The ten toes and feet are smitten by the stone cut out without hands. In other words, the whole of world governments will be destroyed when the Lord returns. The ten toes represent the very end of these empires.
THE TEN TOES ARE AT THE END OF THE AGE
“Thou sawest till that a stone was cut out without hands, which smote the image upon his feet that were of iron and clay, and brake them to pieces.
Then was the iron, the clay, the brass, the silver, and the gold, broken to pieces together, and became like the chaff of the summer threshingfloors; and the wind carried them away, that no place was found for them: and the stone that smote the image became a great mountain, and filled the whole earth.” Dan. 2:34-35
“And whereas thou sawest the feet and toes…And as the toes of the feet were part of iron, and part of clay…And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever.” Dan. 2: 41,42, & 44
CONCLUSION: THE WOMAN SITS ON A BEAST THAT WILL ARISE AT THE END OF THE AGE.
HERE IS THE PROBLEM WITH SAYING THE WOMAN IS ROME.
The woman seems to ride or control the beast. Rome does not control anything like that today. The Papacy has lost almost all its influence over the governments of the world although I am sure that many, especially the Adventists, will not agree.
WHO IS THE HARLOT?
If you have been following my studies on this you will know that I believe the preponderance of the evidence points to Jerusalem as the Harlot.
WHO IS IN CONTROL OR RIDING THE GOVERNMENTS TODAY.
Unless all the studies I have read are wrong and unless men like Patton, Churchill, Solzhenitsyn, etc. are wrong the governments of the world are under Jewish control.
SO IT LOOKS LIKE THERE WILL ARISE A FORM OF GOVERNMENT AT THE END THAT WILL BE UNDER JEWISH CONTROL BUT WILL TURN ON THE JEWS AFTER THE RISE TO POWER.
NEXT I WANT TO TALK ABOUT THE FALSE PROPHET. MAYBE TOMORROW.

the beast is islam. The whore is catholic christianity. The whore riding on the back of the beast is a perfect picture of catholic churches struggling to survive in islamic countries in the middle east.
Is this just your opinion or do you have scripture that says what you imply?
the most blistering indictment of the catholic church is in Rev 17-18…go down the list of things God rejects and you will see he is talking about catholicism (by catholics, I mean all catholics including the romans, greek & russian orthodox, oriental/coptic orthodox, etc)…for example:
1) ” merchandise of gold and silver, precious stones and pearls” catholic worship is very ornate with all these riches on communion cups
2) “fine linen and purple, silk and scarlet” white linen is what the pope wears, purple silk is what the bishops wear, scarlet is what the cardinals wear
3) “every kind of citron wood, every kind of object of ivory, every kind of object of most precious wood, bronze, iron, and marble” all catholics make idols and icons of these materials, strictly forbidden for worship practices by the 2nd commandment
4) “incense, fragrant oil and frankincense, wine and oil, fine flour and wheat” catholic rituals use these items
5) the indictment is also on the merchants…it is good to do business with people with deep pockets $$$
6) Rev 18:8 and also verses 15-19 indicate that the capital city is a deepwater port, which will be destroyed in an hour by fire…Rome is not a port city, but Istanbul is…it is the home of the ecumenical patriarch of the orthodox…if there is ever a nuclear exchange in the middle east, Istanbul will be targeted…only a nuclear detonation can destroy a city as large as Istanbul in an hour…
reasons why Islam is the Beast:
5) Turkey and Erdogan have turned on the Jews and Israel. Turkey had good relations with Israel until the Islamicists radicalized Turkey. Now Erdogan has taken the lead organizing Islamic resistance to Israel. He is getting cooperation from both Sunni and Shia islam, which is difficult and rare. This was especially evident after Trump validated Jerusalem as capital if Israel. I think Erdogan is the antichrist. If not him, his successor will be. Wait and see, the revelation of the antichrist happens in Rev. 6…if you believe in Rev 4:1 “thief in the night” rapture, that means the antichrist won’t be revealed for sure until the pretrib rapture takes place.
