For some reason Gene and the other speakers in this video want to discount flat earthers. Why? Why not let people explore and come up with questions that might demand answers?
Gene says that he climbed a mountain once and could see for thousands of miles.
No U couldn’t Gene. Scientifically impossible. Humans can’t see that far, but then again, are we entirely certain that Gene is fully human? I still have a side bet that he’s an AI dog like the picture he always shows.
Next Gene says that he could see the bend of the earth from the mountain top.

This reminds me of the false positive test that we were given in school for proving that the earth is a globe. Watch a ship heading out to the horizon and notice how it drops the farther away it gets. We know from science, of course, that this is not proof of a bending landscape but an optical illusion caused by light. The same optical illusion Gene experienced at the top of the mountain.
