Important Lessons In The Book Of Jeremiah

There are some important lessons in the Book of Jeremiah, Chapter 31; for instance in Verse 29, we were told the fathers have eaten a sour grape and the children’s teeth are set on edge. The blunt meaning of that statement is: parents of children who profess prejudice or hate or misuse towards others, are ingraining those behaviors in their children, and we know the children did not come into this world with those behaviors.

The only way we can hope to ever change that behavior, is by being an example, and not simply a teacher; we need to offset the damage done to the children by their parents, for it is not likely the parent will change. We must clearly demonstrate to the youth of the world the second greatest commandment Jesus taught: love your neighbor as you love yourself; in other words do unto them as you would have them do unto you, and ingrain in God’s young children the lesson Jesus preached, in which He said, pray for those who hate or misuse you. Being a Christian example means we don’t simply talk the talk – we must also walk the walk.

Jeremiah 31:31 provided the next important lesson, which is actually a prophecy Jesus fulfilled: Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah, and that prophecy ties with the lesson in Verse 32, which says, Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD.

The prophecy within Verse 31 tells us the Lord will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and Jesus fulfilled that covenant by giving to mankind new laws. However, the laws he gave were eliminated from the New Testament by the First Council of Nicaea 325 A.D., which had been convened and presided over by Roman Emperor Constantine. Constantine had an agenda he wanted to fulfill: make peace between the pagan, Christian, and Jewish religions, and he did so by mixing Gnostic teachings with Christ’s teachings, and eliminated of certain of Christ’s teachings, which were contrary to traditional Hebrew Laws.

Verse 32 tells us what one of the new covenants to the House of Israel would be, when the Lord said, Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake. That section specifically addressed the daily sacrifice, and Jesus made that clear when told His Disciples, Is it not written in the prophets, Put your blood sacrifices to your burnt offerings, and away with them, and cease ye from the eating of flesh, for I spake not to your fathers nor commanded them, when I brought them out of Egypt, concerning these things.

The Gospel of the Holy Twelve contains the new laws that Jesus brought to mankind, and that was made clear in Lection 25, Verse 8, when He said, “But behold One greater than Moses is here, and he will give you the higher law, even the perfect Law, and this Law shall ye obey.” One of the laws that Jesus brought into the world was addressed in Jeremiah 31:32, and it eliminated the blood covenant law instituted by Moses in Exodus 24:5-8.

Jesus preached in numerous Lections throughout the Gospel of the Holy Twelve that He came into the world to end the blood sacrifices of the law, and the fact that He preached as He did, fulfilled the Daniel 8:11 and 9:27 prophecies, which foretold the Messiah would end the daily sacrifice. This is just one of many significant laws Jesus gave to the world that were removed from his doctrine by the First Council of Nicea 325 A.D. Others that were removed, are in my opinion, crucial, as they impact a soul’s ability to earn salvation; for those laws make it clear, salvation is not a gift, as Paul preached in his epistles.
