The Thousand Year Reign of Revelation 20 - Is It Yet Future?

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

The numbers found in the Bible have both literal and symbolic meanings.  The context, or the subject matter of the scripture tells us when the numbers recorded in the scripture are literal, and when they are figurative, or symbolic.

For instance, the following scriptures all have a literal numeric value:

Ex. 38:25, “And the silver of them that were numbered of the congregation was an hundred talents, and a thousand seven hundred and threescore and fifteen shekels, after the shekel of the sanctuary:”

Ezra 2:7, “The children of Elam, a thousand two hundred fifty and four.

Num. 3:50, ” Of the firstborn of the children of Israel took he the money; a thousand three hundred and threescore and five shekels, after the shekel of the sanctuary:”

Neh. 7:70, “And some of the chief of the fathers gave unto the work. The Tirshatha gave to the treasure a thousand drams of gold, fifty basons, five hundred and thirty priests’ garments.”

Job 42:12, “So the Lord blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning: for he had fourteen thousand sheep, and six thousand camels, and a thousand yoke of oxen, and a thousand she asses.”

Dan. 5:1, “Belshazzar the king made a great feast to a thousand of his lords, and drank wine before the thousand.”

We can easily tell that the number “a thousand” in the verses above were part of a literal number of things or people.  They were all counting something.  Then, we see these verses:

Deu. 7:9, “Know therefore that the Lord thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations;”

2 Sam 18:12, “And the man said unto Joab, Though I should receive a thousand shekels of silver in mine hand, yet would I not put forth mine hand against the king’s son:….”

Psa. 50:10, “For every beast of the forest is mine, and the cattle upon a thousand hills.”

Psa. 84:10, “For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.”

Psa. 90:4, “For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night.”

Psa. 105:8, “He hath remembered his covenant for ever, the word which he commanded to a thousand generations.”

2 Pet. 3:8, “But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.”

All of the above scriptures use “a thousand” in a symbolic manner.  Can a man literally hold a thousand shekels of silver in his hand?  Of course, not.  A shekel was the chief silver coin of the Hebrews, and weighed about 1/2 ounce.  2 Sam. 18:12 used it as a superlative to make a point.

The symbolism of “a thousand” is God’s measure of a great multitude, or countless things, or a completeness, or fullness of time.  Or, as in Psa. 90:4 and 2 Pet. 3:8, it means an insignificant matter as God does not value or measure time the way man does.  These uses are symbolic so that the reader knows God is speaking of something perfect, or complete, or full.

Knowing now that we must look at the context of the scriptures, and knowing that God’s prophetic language is figurative, and not literal, let’s look at the verses in Revelation.

Rev. 5:11, “And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands;

Rev. 20:2-4, “And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,   And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.    4And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.”

Rev. 20:6, “Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.”

All of the above “thousand”,” thousands”, and “thousand years” in Revelation are symbolic and have the meaning, convey the sense of fullness, or completeness.  They are not literal!

Therefore, verse 4 of Revelation 20 is not a literal thousand year reign!

The deception of a literal thousand year reign of Christ on earth is used against Christians, especially American Christians, and is designed to make them believe they have to financially support the politically contrived state of modern day Israel.  The teaching or concept that the state of Israel is the site of a future temple, and a future reign of Christ is dead wrong!  It is propaganda for a political agenda of the Zionists, the Jesuits, and the international bankers who are in league and are playing games with the nations across the Middle East, and who are provoking Russia, and China to war against America, and Europe.  They are lining their pockets with the resources of the Middle East, and killing people in the process.

Let’s take a closer look at Rev 20:4 to see it more clearly.

Rev. 20:4, “And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.”

Who were the souls of those that were beheaded for their witness of Jesus?  These were the saints, the Christians who had died in the persecution under Rome and the Jews in the first century A.D.  They were beheaded, so they were dead.  The dead do not live on earth, so these are the spirits of those martyrs who had eternal life in heaven.  And, they were going to live and reign with Christ for some period of years determined by God, which is symbolically represented by the number “a thousand”.

Reign with Christ…. this is speaking of the martyrs co-reigning, not of a limited reign of Christ.  Christ’s reign is everlasting.  The martyr’s co-reign with Him was time limited.

If they were going to live after they had been beheaded, then where were they reigning?  Christ had been seated at the right hand of the Father in Heaven at His ascension in Acts 1.  So, where were the martyrs who had been beheaded if they were living and reigning with Christ?  They were in heaven!

Not on earth, IN HEAVEN!

The verse is not speaking of Christ’s reign, but the souls who would reign with Him for a period of time which God would determine as a complete or fulfilled number of years.  You cannot glance over and give a superficial reading to the scriptures.  You must use some critical analysis.

Rev. 20:4 is not speaking of some earthly reign in our future.  This verse concerned the saints that were killed under the persecution of the first century church, the newly converted to Christ, that were martyred under Nero Caesar of Rome of the first century A.D.

Since the thousand years of verse 4 was not literal, then how long were the martyrs going to reign with Christ in heaven?  Revelation itself provides the clue.

Rev. 20:7-10, And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison,  And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog, and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.  And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.  10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever”

Gog and Magog are a reference to those who had set themselves against God in the prophesy of Ezekiel Chap. 38, and was the Roman empire of old. Ez. 38 even gives some of the boundaries of the old Roman empire.  We see it in verse 9 above.  Gog and Magog, the enemies of the saints, are gathered in battle against “the beloved city”, and  fire came down from God out of heaven.  This is the siege of Jerusalem, the beloved city, that great city of Rev. 17, & 18, where our lord was crucified (Rev. 11:8)

The fire from heaven was the same fire from heaven of Rev. 13:13, and was the attack led by Titus, whose symbol was the lightning bolt, and who burned Jerusalem with fire.  Under the direction of his father Vespasian, Titus led the final battle against Jerusalem, and destroyed the temple of Herod in A.D. 70.   (See a more complete discussion of Gog and Magog at Identifying Gog &  Magog.)

So, the battle with Gog and Magog was going to happen when the thousand year co-reign of the martyrs was ended – not after a thousand year reign of Christ on earth!  The verse doesn’t say anything about a reign on earth.

The battle of the siege of Jerusalem occurred in A.D. 70.  How long, then, was the symbolically complete “thousand” years?

From the crucifixion of Christ in A.D. 30 to the destruction of the Jerusalem temple in A.D. 70 was 40 years, which was the anti-type of the transition period of the 40 years exodus wilderness.  Both 40 year periods were a time of transition, testing the people, purging the people for those that endured the hardships and would enter the promised land.  They both were told to endure the hardships that each faced.  (Heb. 3:8, 10, 13-14)

The exodus from Egypt brought the saved to the promised land of Canaan.  The exodus from sin and slavery under the old covenant brought the saved souls to their spiritual rest under the new covenant when the old covenant was taken out of the way at the destruction of Jerusalem.  Read Heb. Chap. 10 again.

As the first persecution of the church began with Stephen’s stoning in Acts c. 7, some time after Christ’s crucifixion in A.D. 30, and the battle with Gog and Magog was finished with the destruction of Jerusalem in A.D. 70, the co-reign of the martyrs symbolic thousand years was completed and fully perfected in A.D. 70 and lasted somewhere between 37 or 40 literal years.

You might also note that there are two periods of a “thousand years” in Rev. c. 20.  There is the thousand years for the co-reign of the martyrs in v. 4, and there is the symbolically complete “thousand years” the dragon was bound in v. 2.   The thousand year binding of the dragon ended before the thousand year co-reign of the martyrs, as he was loosed before the destruction of Jerusalem.

Since that old temple was destroyed, and all of the old sacrificial law was fulfilled in Christ, the new temple, or tabernacle is now in heaven.  (Heb. 9:11-12)  Since that destruction in A.D.70, every saved soul, every soul covered by the blood of Christ goes home to heaven at their bodily death. (Rev. 14:13)

Why, then would anyone think that Christ has to step down from His position and office of High Priest at the right hand of the Most High to come reign on earth for a literal one thousand years?   He rules from the right hand of God now!  Why would you want Him to step down from glory, and move backward to a lesser physical, material kingdom?  That denies His victory!

All of those who are baptized into Christ through immersion in water, have put on Christ by being symbolically buried into His death, burial, and resurrection, and are of spiritual Israel, and are in His kingdom, and His church.  Christ reigns today over that kingdom, and that spiritual church, the new Jerusalem, and has ever since He ascended to the Father.  He doesn’t have to come back to earth to reign.  That is just foolishness.

The process He established with His kingdom, and His church continues today.  The church, spiritual Israel, and His kingdom is everlasting and will never end. (Psa.145:13; Dan. 4:3. 34; 7:14, 27; 2Pet. 1:11)  It will continue forever, and allows Him to bring ever more souls to a knowledge of Him, and to heaven. His harvest. (Matt. 9:37,38; 13:30, 39; Luke 10:2; John 4:35; Rev. 14:15)

He has given us everything in the scriptures that we need to answer the call of the gospel, and to accept His offer.  He rules the nations from the right hand of the Father in heaven, and He doesn’t have to come down to earth to do that.

Those that are intent upon twisting God’s word, and deceiving the people are condemned by Rev. 22:18-19:

18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:  19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.”

Don’t let them deceive you.  There is no literal 1,000 year reign of Christ to come on earth!  That is a lie!

Read the scriptures carefully, and analyze them.  They will tell you what they mean.  Let them speak!  The New Testament is the Old Testament revealed.  All prophesy in the New Testament can be traced back to the prophesies of the Old Testament, and that includes the book of Revelation.

All scripture is quoted from the KJV.  All bold emphasis is mine.

But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. 6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years. 7 And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison, 8 And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea. 9 And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.
      Rev 20:5-9 (KJV)

You are deceived that is for sure, everything you declare is out of context and made up and not supported anywhere in the Word.
Woe unto those who change the word of God
Check out the warning at the end of Revelations.
      WOW

Isaiah 65:17-18 For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind. But be ye glad and rejoice for ever in that which I create: for, behold, I create Jerusalem a rejoicing, and her people a joy.

The Second Gathering Of IsraelThe second gathering of Israel will involve a new creation by the Lord. The people will build houses, and they shall plant vineyards, and eat the fruit of thereof.

In the second creation, after the thousand year reign of Christ, the Lord provides His people with a complete city already built for them (Isaiah 65:21-22; Rev 21:10-23).

The curse has devoured the earth (or land), and they that dwell therein are desolate, therefore the inhabitants of the earth are melted (or burnt like kindling), and there are few men left (Isaiah 24:6). However Christ will bring about the second gathering of Israel, and the righteous shall shine as the sun (Mat 13:43). The Lord will Reign in Mount Zion, in Jerusalem.

Isaiah 24:23 Then the moon shall be confounded, and the sun ashamed, when the LORD of hosts shall reign in mount Zion, and in Jerusalem, and before his ancients gloriously.

Look up to the heavens, and look upon the earth below, for the heavens shall vanish away like smoke, and the earth will become old like a garment, and they that dwell therein shall die in like manner…(Isaiah 51:6).

The second gathering of Israel, will not be a temporary time of Joy, it will be everlasting.

Isaiah 51:11 Therefore the redeemed of the LORD shall return, and come with singing unto Zion; and everlasting joy shall be upon their head: they shall obtain gladness and joy; and sorrow and mourning shall flee away.

The Redeemed of the Lord represents the second gathering of Israel unto redemption which is the promise of Salvation and the eternal inheritance with Jesus.

The Second Gathering Of Israel – The Inheritance Promised To The Elect In Christ

Isaiah 65:9 And I will bring forth a seed out of Jacob, and out of Judah an inheritor of my mountains: and mine elect shall inherit it, and my servants shall dwell there.

The promise was made to Abraham and His seed, which is Christ Jesus. The second gathering of Israel is when Christ will rejoice with His chosen ones, that have His Spirit of truth. All that share in the righteousness of the faith of Abraham, are the seed that Christ brings forth unto His inheritance. This includes the dead in Christ, that have waited for this day wherein they receive resurrected, immortal and incorruptible bodies.

This is a time of restoration unlike any other, and probably similar to the first creation in many ways.

Isaiah 65:25 The wolf and the lamb shall feed together, and the lion shall eat straw like the bullock: and dust shall be the serpent’s meat. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain, saith the LORD.

Christ will send forth his angels, and they will gather out of his kingdom all things that are an offence, and all those that practice iniquity. These idolaters will be cast into a furnace of fire, where there will be wailing and gnashing of teeth. But those who are of the second gathering of Israel, the righteous, will shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father (Matt 13:41-43).

The Thousand Year Reign of Christ

The Thousand Year Reign of Christ is when He establishes His Kingdom on Earth, He will fulfill the prophecy in Daniel 9:24, as He will bring in everlasting righteousness. The prayer or petition to the Father, that Jesus taught us, will also be realized through Christ. Thy Kingdom come Thy Will be done on earth as it is in Heaven, will be fulfilled during the Thousand Year Reign of Christ (Mathew 6:10).

Isaiah 11:4 But with righteousness shall he judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth: and he shall smite the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked.
        ◾Psalms 37:6-13
◾The Lord God shall bring forth righteousness as the light, and judgment…
◾Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him
◾Do not fret because of those who accomplish wickedness
◾Cease from anger, and forsake wrath and evil
◾For the evildoers will be cut off
◾But those that wait upon the LORD, they shall inherit the earth
◾The meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight in great peace
◾The wicked plotteth against the just
◾ Adonai laughs at the wicked: for he sees their day is coming.

The use of the word Lord, in reference to Jesus, as Adonai, is used just once in Psalms 37. He scornfully laughs at those that do not know of their demise that will come like a whirlwind. Here is a wonderful song, about our Adonai. Petra – Adonai

Adonai, does not sit at the right hand of God, He is the right hand, or power of God. He will shatter the power of the kings of the earth, during the day of his wrath, and the Thousand Year Reign of Christ will begin (Psalms 110:5).

Isaiah 11:6 The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them.

The Thousand Year Reign of Christ There will no longer be evil or corruption in the holy mountain, for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea (Isaiah 11:9).

Isaiah 11:11 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord (Adonai) shall set his hand again the second time to recover the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from Cush, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea.

At the onset of the Thousand Year Reign of Christ, Jesus will swallow up death in victory. Our Lord Adonai, will wipe away the tears of His people. And it shall be said in that day, this is our God (Elohim) we have waited for our Savior; this is the Lord (Jehovah) whom we have waited for; we will be glad and rejoice in His Salvation (Isaiah 25:8-9).

Jer 32:17 Ah Lord (Adonai) GOD! behold, thou hast made the heaven and the earth by thy great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for thee:

On Earth As it Is in Heaven – Prophecy In The Lords Prayer Revealed

God who in the past spoke to us through His prophets, has in these last days spoken unto us by his Son. During the Thousand Year Reign of Christ, He who is appointed as heir of all things, will also be recognized as the one who made all things, including the world (Heb 1:1-2).

Isaiah 11:9 They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.

The Thousand Year Reign of Christ is a literal event that occurs upon this present earth with the existing heavens and seas, although there will be many changes that occur. There are only two complete creation events, and a restoration of the first creation is necessary to repair the damage done to what once was a beautiful planet. Refer to the article entitled sign of the times, and then add to that a probable nuclear confrontation, and the damage done to planet earth by means of the continual wars including the battle of Armageddon, and it becomes clear why the restoration will be required.

In the first creation, God created the heavens and the earth (Gen 1:1). Mankind can choose evil or righteousness during this time period.

In the second creation, God creates a new Heaven and a new Earth, as well as a new holy city called the New Jerusalem. The Thousand Year Reign of Christ occurs before the place that Jesus went to prepare for His children is revealed. This final and eternal destination is reserved for His Elect. The righteous will enter into a timeless, sinless and eternal fellowship with the Lord God.

There are many unique features of this second creation, that are very different from that of the first.
◾There is no more sea (Rev 21:1).
◾The first heaven and earth are replaced by the second after the millennial reign of Christ, and the New Jerusalem descends from Heaven (Rev 21:2).
◾There is no longer a sun nor a moon (Rev 21:23).
◾There is no longer a night or darkness (Rev 21:25).
◾The only ones who occupy New Jerusalem are those whose names are written in the Lambs Book of Life (Rev 21:27).
◾There shall be no more curse (Rev 22:3).
◾The righteous shall have access to the Tree of Life (Rev 22:2).

The Thousand Year Reign of Christ During the Thousand Year Reign of Christ, there are several characteristics that show that this creation of a new heaven and earth (or land), is a restoration of the first creation, and not the second creation.
◾We look forward to a new heaven and earth where Christ will bring in everlasting righteousness (2 Peter 3:13; Dan 9:24).
◾There are seas during this time period, but the second earth has no more seas, but instead the River of the Water of Life (Rev 20:13; Rev 21:1; Rev 22:1, 2, 17).
◾There still are tears shed, sorrow to be had, and death still occurs (Rev 21:4; Isa 65:20).
◾This time is an answer to our prayer: thy Kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven (Mathew 6:10).
◾The Elect will receive a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give to all that love his appearing (2 Tim 4:8).
◾There are still seasons (Zec 14:8).
◾The remnant of the nations that came against Jerusalem will come to worship Christ in Jerusalem (Zec 14:16-17).
◾Not all reign with Christ, and those that disobey will be punished ( Zec 14:17-19).
◾Those of the nations will learn the ways of the Lord (Isa 2:2-3).
◾During the Thousand Year Reign of Christ, those who were slain for the Word of Christ live and reign with Him (Rev 20:4).
◾This is the promise of the inheritance that the Elect who are sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise receive at His coming (Eph 1:13; Eph 3:6; 1 John 2:25).

Gal 3:14 That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

The great flood was necessary to remove all things that were an offence to God. Likewise at the Thousand Year Reign of Christ, the new heavens and earth that Christ creates at His second coming are cleansed of iniquity and all things that offend.

Matt 13:41 The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity

In part two of this series entitled The Thousand Year Reign of Christ, we will discover who the Redeemed are that will Inherit Zion. The Elect who are also God’s chosen ones, will take part in the true Second Gathering of the Israel of God.

The Thousand-year Reign of the Saved

Introduction: This lesson is about a prophecy that describes a time when the saved will reign with Christ. Here we will learn the answers to such questions as, “Where will the redeemed live, in heaven or on earth?” and, “Where will hell be located?”

      1. How long will the saved reign with Christ? Rev. 20:4 [The Further-study verses are 2 Tim. 2:12; Rev. 3:21; 1 Cor. 6:2, 3]

      2. When does the thousand years begin? Rev. 20:6 [Ans: At the first resurrection. Dan. 7:26, 27 (In this verse the reign of the redeemed begins when the "little-horn" Beast power is destroyed, for that coincides with the resurrection); Matt. 19:28]

      3. Thus the resurrection marks the beginning of the thousand years. When does this resurrection take place? 1 Thess. 4:15-17 [Ans: At Jesus' second coming. 1 Cor. 15:51, 52; John 6:54; 11:24; Matt. 24:30, 31]

      4. Where will the righteous be taken at Jesus’ second coming in order to reign with Him for a thousand years? John 14:2, 3 [Ans: They will be taken to heaven, where Jesus is. Acts 1:11; Eph. 6:9; Heb. 9:24; Col. 1:5]

      5. What will happen to the wicked when Christ returns? 2 Thess. 1:6-10; 2:8 [Rev. 14:14-20]

      6. If the righteous are taken to heaven at Jesus’ second coming, and all the wicked are destroyed, who will be left to bury them? Jer. 25:33 [Rev. 19:21]

      7. Revelation pictures a dreadful earthquake mingled with fire at Jesus’ second coming. What will the earth be like during the thousand years while the righteous are reigning with Jesus in heaven? Jer. 4:23-26 [Rev. 16:18-21; Gen. 1:1, 2]

      8. Where will the Devil be during the thousand years? Rev. 20:1-3 [Note: The expression "bottomless pit" comes from "abussos," the Greek equivalent of the Hebrew word "tehom" ("deep" or "abyss") in Genesis 1:2, which describes this earth in a condition of chaos. Jeremiah 4:23 says that this earth will again be "without form, and void," as in Genesis 1:2. Thus Satan will be chained to this desolate and empty earth. Job 1:6, 7 (This verse tells of the time Satan could still go back to heaven, along with the sons of God [from other planets], to represent earth. But during the thousand years he will be isolated upon dark, cold, sunless, uninhabited earth. It will indeed be like a bottomless pit!)]

      9. What will come down from heaven to earth at the close of the thousand years? Rev. 21:2, 10 [Rev. 3:12; Ps. 37:9-11; Matt. 5:5; Zech. 14:4, 9]

      10. Will the “rest of the dead” (the wicked who were not resurrected, along with those who were slain at Jesus’ second coming) ever live again? Rev. 20:5 [John 5:28, 29]

      11. Satan is bound to this planet during the thousand years with no one to tempt, for the righteous are in heaven and the wicked are dead. But after the thousand years, when the wicked are raised, what will Satan do? Rev. 20:7, 8 [Eze. 38:18-23]

      12. What will happen to the wicked at this time? Rev. 20:9a, 11-13 [Note: The judgment of the righteous takes place before the second coming, but the records of the wicked are reviewed by the saved during the thousand years--Jesus allows them to reign with Him on His judgment seat. After the thousand years, the wicked receive their final sentence, as written in the books. 1 Cor. 6:2, 3; 1 Peter 4:17; Joel 3:12-17]

      13. The sentence is death. What is this death called? Rev. 20:9b, 10, 14, 15 [Ans: The "second death." The "first death" is an unconscious sleep prior to the resurrection, but the second death is annihilation in the lake of fire. Rev. 20:6; Eze. 28:9; 39:6; Ps. 37:10; Obadiah 16]

      14. This earth, after the thousand years, will become the eternal home of the saved (Matt. 5:5; Ps. 37:9). What will it be like? Isa. 65:17, 21-25 [Rev. 21:1-4]

Commitment: Where will you spend the thousand years? If we will take up our cross and follow Jesus today (Matt. 16:24), we will reign with Him then (Rev. 3:21), as He has promised. Will you choose to follow Jesus all the way, whatever the cost?

Amminadab. says—- Where will the righteous be taken at Jesus’ second coming in order to reign with Him for a thousand years? John 14:2, 3 [Ans: They will be taken to heaven, where Jesus is. Acts 1:11; Eph. 6:9; Heb. 9:24; Col. 1:5]

Not that we like to call names, but you sir are a Liar!!!

Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.
        Acts 1:11 (KJV)

Isaiah 11:6 The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them.

Gosh I guessed we missed this event!!!

Isaiah 65:17-18 For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind. But be ye glad and rejoice for ever in that which I create: for, behold, I create Jerusalem a rejoicing, and her people a joy.

Isaiah 24:23 Then the moon shall be confounded, and the sun ashamed, when the LORD of hosts shall reign in mount Zion, and in Jerusalem, and before his ancients gloriously.

This millennial teaching is so ingrained that a film has thickened over everyone’s eyes. Is. Chap 65 prophesied the promised Messiah. AND HE CAME! Just as all OT prophesy promised to the house of Judah and the tribes of Israel. Isaiah also prophesied the establishment of His kingdom when He came. If you deny that His kingdom is already established, and with us today, you must also be denying His coming in the first century A.D. He has already done all of the above!

The new heavens and new earth are His kingdom and His church. The eternal home of the saved is Heaven. Eternal…. everlasting….lions lying down with lambs…. cannot happen on a physical earth. Those situations can only exist in the spirit. Please read my post on Heaven and Earth Have Passed Away for the scriptures that detail how these words were used in the OT to describe Israel and the surrounding lands. Too many people are discarding or are unaware of the OT usage.

Jesus himself promised that He would appear to those of the first century a second time, especially the Hebrew Christians. Heb. 9:28. That second appearance was not a promise to every generation, or else He would have to appear a first time to every generation before He could make a second appearance to each eye that looked for Him. All throughout the NT, the people were being told to endure, to wait for His coming, that He was coming soon, that they were living in the last days, that the time was at hand, that time was short. Those words were heard by the Christians in the first century.

How could Jesus and the Apostles make those statements with a straight face if that time was 2,000 years later? Jesus told Caiaphas that Caiaphas was going to see Him coming in the clouds of heaven. Matt. 26:64. This statement made directly to the high priest Caiaphas, was considered by Caiaphas to be blasphemy, because Caiaphas recognized the judgment language of God from the OT. All comings on the clouds of heaven, all days of the Lord, all comings of the Lord in the OT prophesies were days of judgment upon the nations who were told to repent.

How is it that so many people of our generation do not recognize the judgment coming of the Lord promised to not only Caiaphas, but to all those who were told that the time was at hand? That coming in the clouds, that second appearance was the promised judgment that fell upon Jerusalem at its destruction in 70 A.D., and it incorporated a judgment upon Rome and the surrounding nations for their part in Jerusalem’s destruction and Christ’s crucifixion.

It appears that you have not given all of the evidences and scriptures in my posts on It’s Not The End of the World due consideration, as I have presented the scriptures accurately in all 10 parts. Please do so. Please give them your attention!

A thousand year reign is not literal. You are looking for Utopia on earth, and Utopia is only in Heaven. It is in heaven that we have all of the benefits and all of the promises of eternal life. While we are in the Kingdom and in His church while we live in the body here on earth, we have yet to receive the full benefit, the full inheritance of the promise of eternal life until we shed this earthly body and our spirit goes home. Then, we get all of the inheritance. Perfection is not in the fleshly body, but in the spiritual one.

I know that Christ has been coming in judgment on different nations at different times many times over the past 2,000 years. I know this because He is at the right hand of the Father, and has been ruling over the nations for the past 2,000 years, and He has been doing His work of ruling / judgment.

In the OT examples that are written for our edification, all of His judgments were carried out through the agency of famines, disease, fire from heaven, and armies of other nations that were sent against the offending nation. All of Isaiah is full of these judgments, these comings of the Lord, and days of the Lord promised to those nations of that time. How is that you do not recognize that same judgment language used in the NT?
