ipad 2 vs Motorola xoom- A comparative analysis

The competition in the tablet market is again heating up, thanks to the Apple’s launch of ipad, however, it remains to be seen which way this competition is heading to given the motorola’s Xoom is now in the fray.

If tablet market has anyone to thank to, it has to be Apple under Steve Jobs, as before him not much was going on in this market segment. If Apple’s iPad2 resurrected the tablet market, Motorola Xoom is out there to change the rules of the game. A number of enticing  ipad 2 deals are there in the market which enable one to have a hand on this product, however, all this is getting overshadowed by the xoom deals which offer this amazing product with lucrative incentives.

Running on Android 3 operating system and equipped with a new NVIDIA chip, Motorola Xoom deals seems to be dwarfing the iPad 2. It offers high quality HD display with amazing gaming graphics and with comparatively high RAM; it supports multitasking in a true sense. Another, clear differentiator is Xoom’s front and rear facing camera for video call and high quality video recording respectively. Though, iPad 2 gets dwarf in Xoom’s shadow as far as improved features are concerned, there is something for iPad 2 to cheer for. Since, iPad 2 was launched earlier, Apple is definitely going to have the early movers advantage over Motorola in the market. One aspect of this will be already developed Apps market of iPad; there are a plethora of accessories and applications which are compatible with iPad. Xoom might lag behind on this front as not much of Apps market is in existence for Xoom.

Xoom wields greater processing speed with its Nvidia’s Tegra 2.1 GHz dual core processor while iPad 2 has a single core processor. All this only goes to make xoom deals a better options than ipad 2 deals.  Another area where Xoom wins hands down is connectivity- Xoom comes with micro USB and Bluetooth connectivity, absence of usb is another weak point for ipad 2. For all those multimedia enthusiasts, xoom is certainly the way to walk on as it offers high quality grpahics and HD quality video output. Xoom’s Android flexibilty with other programmes not developed by Google is something which is not seen in Apple corporation system; this further limits the scope of the iPad 2 deals.
