Futurist Claims: 'I'll Help You Live Forever'
Want to live forever? How about just an extra thousand years or so?
Ian Pearson, a British futurist, says death will be a thing of the past within a few short decades.
Pearson is one of many futurists, cybernetic experts, and artificial intelligence researchers whose thoughts are converging on the same basic idea: Why not upload everything that’s in the brain—everything that makes a person who they are—into a computer and then download it again into a new body? Doing such a thing would make the individual theoretically immortal.

For such a thing to work, more advancements are needed in the hardware and the software, and better interfaces will have to be developed between the human and silicon brains.

A member of the new transhuman movement (beyond human), Sandberg believes uploading minds and downloading them again into new bodies is a technology that’s imminent. He believes it will happen because of Mankind’s desire to overcome aging and death, as well as solving the problems associated with overpopulation.

Another transhumanist, AI theorist Eliezer Yudkowsky is convinced the technology must be developed quickly before a group or government with evil intentions does it first. He sees artificial intelligence as the key to unlock the immortality door. But it must be done in the right way for if it’s not, dire consequences could follow.
“If a self-improving AI is thrown together in a slapdash fashion, we could be in for big trouble,” he warns.
Some, like 80-year old Marvin Minsky, called the father of artificial intelligence, the creator of artificial neural networks and the co-founder of the AI lab at MIT, believes the general masses haven’t a clue about how to handle immortality, nor do they deserve it.

What about the rest of humanity? “They should be satisfied with normal lifespans,” he snorts.
Sounding a bit godlike, Minsky waves aside any ethical considerations and argues that scientists are above such things.
Scientists should have no restrictions on research and applications; no regulation of any kind should be placed upon the scientific community.
“Scientists shouldn’t have ethical responsibility for their inventions, they should be able to do what they want. You shouldn’t ask them to have the same values as other people,” Minsky adamantly declares.
Now, that is scary. Isn’t that the premise Dr. Frankenstein had in the book that bears his name?

You wouldn’t be immortal at all. Uploading your “mind” and then putting it in another body would simply be making a copy. Like a file from one folder on your desktop to another.

I respectfully disagree with Dr. Minsky. Scientists are not above the rest of us and they cannot make better decisions than anyone else. I believe they may make a well informed scientific opinion, but is their decision best for mankind?
The discovery that the world is round & actually revolves around the sun, that revolves around the galactic center were both great and we plebeians agree. We really appreciate electron & photon transfer rates. However, cloning, genetic manipulation and others related to the ability to manipulate the mind & body without completely understanding all the ramifications is foolish, at best, indictable, at worst.
Why do some of them place themselves on a pedestal above us all? Is it because they know all there is to know within a very specific box? What about outside the box?

Why should we choose to live in a three dimensional construct when there is so much more available in the higher dimensional spaces. This might be passable but not the way they put it and it could happen by 2025. I have a friend that is a genetic engineer and he talks about tolemear break off points and hormonal cascade scaring at puberty and stopping it. Life spans of a thousand years and the ability to take someone sixty back to twenty and he is serious. I believe him as he now has his name and the lab e worked in on the list of people who have helped define points in the human DNA chain. He talks way over my head but I get the ideas he is talking about. What he says will be passable and soon, who gets this kind of treatment will be the question. You can bet the poor will never see it and it will only be available to the rich and powerful. No wonder they want to kill off ninety percent of the population. With robotics and this kind of science they could wait thousands of years for the earth to heal and have a Paradise to play in, thats there thinking I’m shore.

When it comes down to it…if dying was such a “natural occurrence”, then there would not be so much time spent fighting against it. In fact there would not even be given a thought about it…it would just happen and we would be ready for it.

To the poster above, thank you kind person, I have no reason to repent. I love the GOD we were tought to believe in, it is a feeling and not something you learn from a book, and given the fact, sweet thing, that I am 58 years of age and never hugged a tree, just read a lot. The fact is that none of use have any proof that god is a person, you just feel good when you think of him, this is why I mentioned vibration. We are imbarded with so much info these days that having a good vibration in what you believe in does you good and keeps you grounded.

There are too may sliced brain, cowardly, selfish and arrogant scientists that have no courage to die. Therefore, they are trying to promote themselves to gods. They will fail miserably.
The meaning of the death became clear to me already when I was a small child. It was a destitute life what I lived and I was often sick. The nearness of the death became familiar to me but God had planned more for my life than only my childhood and early death. I personally found Jesus Christ, the only Savior. The shadow of the death escaped. It was as it is stated in Fil. 1:21, “For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.” I did not fear the death anymore. I did not know the Bible then, but my mother had told me about Jesus.
I have been several times in dangerous situations, not fearing the death. One time in the forest nearby, I fell and a root of a fallen tree stuck into my chest so deep that I almost died. I felt that my soul and spirit were separated from my body. My body yelled for pain and my soul thought just calmly, “What ever people may think if they hear this kind of whoop.” Then, the Holy Spirit that Jesus promised to send to His own, took control of my body and made it to walk like a robot to my home, although I was yelling for pain like a dying animal. Then, my own spirit responded to the touch of God’s Spirit and I started to praise Him in a language that I did not know. I only felt the eternal power in me. What followed, it is another story. Anyway, I cannot be intimidated by the bodily death and enticed by an artificial “eternal” life.
Those sliced brain scientists speak, write and argue but they lack experience. If the Spirit of God would touch them even once like I have experienced it more than once, they would change their mind like I have done. However, they are cowards and do not have courage to say to God, “Here I am, help me to find the truth,” like I have done, and many others also, time and again. They fear the possible repentance they would encounter and what they could lose: their reputation, income and privileges.
The eternal life has been given already in the person of Jesus Christ who conquered the death. It only has to be accepted but under the terms of God and through His Son Jesus Christ. There’s no other way.

Hi great bloggers, You know scientists and so brainwashed by the powers that be that they don’t even know it themselves, their mindset is so compartmentalized by those who pay their wages that they are just slaves to the elites the same as humanity is.
May be it is true that our DNA was upgraded by aliens to enslave us and be the guardians of earth till they decide that they want earth back for themselves, who knows. But one thing is very obvious, if they aliens integrated their DNA with the apes, then the reason why Aliens, some, have no compassion is that the apes DNA had the compassion and not the Aliens. They upgraded apes the have knowledge but aliens forgot to envisage that mixing of their DNA would create a compassionate and knowledgeable race, the humans. Yes they have technology and all that, but technology without compassion and love is like eating a beautiful looking plate of food that has no taste. So has GOD gave us the compassion, love and all the things we feel that is part of love and compassion ,as his children, and this is what the aliens are missing, they are so futuristic that to them we must seem like as alien as they are to us.
All I can say is that I have seen a vision of Jesus whilst I was watching two beautiful girls angelically singing at easter by the see about Jesus, their voices was so angelic it resonated love and piece and then I saw this beautiful transparent like crystal clear image of Jesus, calm and serene, emerge from the sea and I mean crystal clear like the crystal sculls, this image was so huge that the two girls seemed like ants compared to the image of Jesus. It was like looking down from a very tall skyscraper and seeing humans like ants, so tiny. This image lasted but a second and such a beautif feeling came into my heart that it just made it more obvious that Jesus, and the spirit of God, is all around us in beatiful chilren, beautiful spring and summer in seeing beautiful birds flying in the sky and if the elite didn’t distract humanity by silly TV programmes and films and the mobile phone, then we would have the time to see all these things and come nearer to the spirit of God. Their agenga is the distraction and distortion of the truth because our God is not their God. The elites are so busy competing with each other, and different alien races may be competing with each other, for earth, that we are caught in the middle of all of this. So can we please find ourselves, like our ancesters did, and get to know the real us and connect to nature. I always believed, eversince I was young, that the ancient American Indians knew the truth about spirituality and , had the American government not interfered with them, who knows what life would be like today. Every ancient civilization believed in our space brothers and sisters but, this generation is so distracted by the music industry and, chemtrails seem to cover the skies, that we are more interested in manufactured entertainment than nature. We must build a better future for our children. Don’t let the TV and the music industry bring up our children.
We are all part of the Bloodlines to some extent or another. Bloodlines that flow closer to the tree are documented in Burke’s Peerage. Freedom ends within the Peerage as your life is determined by so many coincidences, it would make one’s head spin if it were not already spinning like the point of their moral compass. However they are not coincidences.
Closely within the Bloodlines are control systems that keep most of the Elite, blissfully ignorant of the feelings of the other 99%. Sometimes, however, it’s not so blissful. If moral malnutrition has not totally starved the ethics from them, pain is the result. How much pain is determined by other products at their indulgence and how much they choose to indulge. Do they want to feel the pain or not? Have you looked closely at some of these people? That is not Happy we see but wretched pain.
The big question is; “How do they attempt the temptation of those who would serve them?” Some people are certain of everlasting life (no chance there), others hopeful (maybe possible with a complete paradigm breakdown), others doubtful (here are your true believers) and some certain that this is your only chance (likely to go along with the plan). Offer them a certain eternity and you have a band of willing followers. All one need do is demonstrate proof of concept. If you build it they will come.
But, Eternity on Earth? Why? Truly, why would we limit ourselves to one Planet. Hubble has shown us Galaxies to explore, Multiverses or Megaverses to journey through. If within that belief structure or Spirituality or whatever you desire to call it, there exists a Good Creator or a Loving God or Great Spirit that you fully embrace, the knowledge of eternal life already exists and nothing can dissuade you from that knowledge.
Science and Religion used to be combined. Galileo faced excommunication for his lens of the Devil. DaVinci kept much of his notebooks from public view as he had ideas so far beyond the current paradigms, he would have likely have been put to death had they become public.
There is so much we do not understand about our own world, our Solar System and the interfaces between dimensions and Multiverses. Why cannot we admit that we do not know? Why would we willingly submit to limiting ourselves by taking the word of someone else for a concept presented as Truth as opposed to finding out for ourselves?
Free Will is what is at stake here. Do we trust the agenda or common sense of one that would promise eternal life, on Earth, by simply an upload of memories? That is not eternal life, but eternal memories, possibly input overload. Where does the Spirit enter into the equation? We have eternal memories already. It is called the Akashic Record and we all have a personal one, a group record and a species record. What we lack is the silence to enter that sacred space and explore.

I sense that in the both of you. It does not matter where one finds it, only that they have, for there are many paths up the mountain. My wife and I have decided on a name for what we have found and we call it, “The First Church of Eclecticism.”
I do not know you, but I have a sense that I do. There are people that only mouth the words, but they do not believe. I sense that you both are children (People) of God in the highest sense. You talk comfortably about your conversions and there is only one Biblical reference. That shows me that you know it in your Heart rather than just in the Mind.
My sense of Spirituality is pretty outside the common bounds, but I accept any person’s honest quest for finding truth and meaning to life on any path. The Merry Pranksters had a saying that you are either, “On the bus or off the bus.” That applies to many different situations and life as a whole.
However we find the Peace that Surpasseth Understanding, we can fully claim that Peace as our own and yet, share it with all as it is a Sacred Space for all to inhabit. It’s never really crowded . . . This is what resonates in the Heart and Mind of a Man of God or a Woman of God. It is not a Space of Judgement, but Acceptance is what abides here. We could even sit down over a pint and talk it over.

We live in the “last days” of this age. Here’s the prophecy that predicted this:

Some say that 80 percent of the bible is fairytale to keep us guessing and, only 20 percent is the truth but, that twenty percent is mixed up between the fairytale. Are we to guess what the truth is, which was allegedley written by the controllers of this planet because this is how they like to control things. And there is a lot of truth in the saying ‘divide and conquer’ create a few religions, a few languages and this will keep nations apart. It could well be the fact that these beings are playing out their prophecies as written, are they shooting something into the sun to create the solar flares, as there is a lot of ufo activity around the sun, their technological capability could reach so far. We are just the guardians, guests on this planet and they do not think that we are doing, or the powers that were, a good job even though it is these beings that caused the problem and the divison, so they want to take it back because humanity has evolved better than the envisaged and multipled to too many. Do you think there is any thruth to this guess work, or are we just trying to find some meaning to who we really are.
I say we are spiritual beings having a human experience on this earth, and this earth is a school. Or are we a threat to the authors of the Bible. Has anyone seen the video by Mr. X on youtube, an interview by project camelot, where this guy had to file top secret government papers and in one of these papers he saw that Jesus was sent to earth by the good extra terrestials to teach humanity spirituality and love. If our DNA had been upgraded from the neanderthals, then this somehow would make sense. And it also makes sense when they say ‘money is the root of all evil’ , the bankers, sole-less they are, should be reminded of that on a very large poster by the OWS protestors.

I’d be willing to bet you couldn’t “upload” the entire contents of a human brain without destroying the original.
And given that, the decision to upload to a younger body, or whatever, would be similar to suicide, since there’d be no absolute guarantee it would work, any more than there’s an absolute guarantee your PC will boot up every time you switch it on.
Also willing to bet that only a very small percentage of the population could even manage to have this done.
I do have faith in making existing human bodies and brains last longer, though. I think that’s a more realistic pursuit.
And yet again, most of us just struggling to pay for a single house, what chance have we got to pay for this?
