Silverlight 5 Docs, Tools and a .chm Are Now Available! – Office 365 Positioned as a Market Challenger by Gartner Magic Quadrant – Help Translate Windows 8 Terms for 23 Languages!
Just a day after, Silverlight 5 was made available, Microsoft has announced the availability of Silverlight 5 docs and a .chm.
Silverlight 5 offers many new features including:
- PivotViewer control
- Trusted applications in-browser
- 3D graphics
- Vector printing
- Improved text rendering including the RichTextBlock control
- Hardware decode of H.264 media.

In other, Microsoft news, this week, Gartner Inc. published the “Magic Quadrant for Unified Communications as a Service” report (Elliot, Bern, and Dan O’Connell. “Unified Communications as a Service Magic Quadrant.” Gartner Research 7 Dec. 2011), which positions Microsoft as a ‘challenger in the market.’
“Microsoft was evaluated based on ‘ability to execute’ and ‘completeness of vision,’ and Gartner specifically evaluated Office 365 and its unified communications and collaboration capabilities. These capabilities empower people to work together from anywhere with access to email, web conferencing, documents, and calendars,” revealed Microsoft.

Also, Microsoft Language is now looking for feedback or alternative suggestions to translate some of the trickier terms include charms, apps, speed bump, thumb keyboard and many more, in Windows 8 for another 23 languages including:
Arabic, Chinese (Traditional), Czech, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, Greek, Hebrew, Hindi, Hungarian, Italian, Korean, Norwegian (Bokmål), Polish, Portuguese (Brazil), Portuguese (Portugal), Russian, Serbian (Latin), Spanish, Swedish, Thai, Turkish, Ukrainian.
The forums will remain open for feedback until November 21.

Click the Glossary link and from there you will see the list of English source terms and our preliminary suggestions to help you along. Then it’s just a case of, for each term, deciding if you like the suggestions provided by selecting Suggest a Translation or Vote.”
