8tracks Mixes It’s Way Into Your BlackBerry Z10

I’m going to start this off by telling you how excited I am to see this application on BlackBerry and I’d like to think that it was because of me that 8tracks ported their Android app over to BlackBerry 10 (Since I did send them emails-which I won’t disclose how many-about showing some love to BlackBerry and the new OS). For those of you who have never heard of 8tracks it is handcrafted internet radio. It’s handcrafted because the users make mixes and share them for the masses to listen to. I like to think of it of a digital mixtape. Once you finish listening to one mix 8tracks will find another mix that fits what you just finished listening to. It’s endless discovery of new music. You can always search for new mixes, or take your hand at creating your own mixes. What I love about 8tracks is the ability to share mixes through social networking such as sharing through: Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, or through text and email. I have discovered many new bands through this app, and if you are like me and love creating mixtapes then this is an app you must get. I have put together about 6 mix tapes, with my own album art (which is what really makes a mix tape, and gives it a personal feel).

Prior to the app I would use my BlackBerry PlayBook’s web browser to play mixes so I am really excited to see 8tracks bring their app over. Like I mentioned early this is just an Android port, so hopefully a native BlackBerry 10 is on its way soon, and it would be great to see BBM integration.
