Dell Unveils 24 Inch 4K Monitor

1080p may be the golden standard with 1200 and 1440p being more rare offerings, but 4k is still the seemingly unreachable holy land in the display world (for the general public that is). Prices on 4k displays and TVs are still well out of reach for most, making them objects of lust and desire that we anxiously drool over in print and online ads. And even though Dell’s new 24-inch 4K UHD monitor is unlikely to break any barriers with pricing, it’s another thing we can add to our various wishlists.

Spec wise it’s a beast for a monitor: 3840 x 2160 (~183 ppi), 1.07 billion colors, 178 and 178 degree viewing angles/99% AdobeRGB/100%sRGB/HDMI/DisplayPort/mini DisplayPort/4 x USB 3.0/6-in-1 Card Reader.

Dell is still mum on the actual type of panel used in this particular display as well as the ever important price. If it’s like other similar offerings from competing manufacturers, though we’re looking at somewhere around $3500-$4000. Yeah, it’s twice as expensive (and often times more than that) than your typical desktop/laptop/tablet that’s sold these days, but come on guys… 4K.

Given Dell’s traditionally great monitors (particularly higher end models in this case), we have no doubt that this will be a solid choice once the TBA release date comes and goes, and some of you lucky souls add one to you desk.
