Fish subset of the LRT updated
Over the last several days
no blogs have been posted here. Rather and meanwhile the fish subset of the LRT has been reexamined, rescored and updated to such an extent that now only 6 small nodes are unresolved. The 505 taxa now run through PAUP in about 30 seconds. The previous record was about 2 minutes. The major branches have not changed, nor have their taxon lists… just some reordering as several taxa with re-scored traits were attracted to other more similar taxa.
”Oh… now I see what’s going on’ was uttered out loud here several times.

Special thanks to the Collinsville Memorial Public Library
for providing their facilities over the past two weeks. My new Mac Studio is too advanced for Mac PAUP, but the library has Microsoft programs, for which that version of PAUP works well.
So it’s been back and forth with a thumb drive and photocopies.
