Android Auto is set to receive a major makeover in the coming months, with more fluid elements, fewer rigid shapes, widget support, and video playback — finally! So anyone who still considers Android Auto inferior (at least, visually) to Apple CarPlay will no longer have their reasons to complain. The exact date for this rollout remains unclear at this moment, but with Google having crossed major milestones in terms of hardware launches — though the Googlebook launch still remains, we could expect it to pour its energy into bringing the promised software upgrades.
